  1. I have a heater, but it's little and my garage is big and uninsulated... Though there -is- a heated garage I could use, except it's in Wisconsin and full of my dad's John Deere's and tools XD
  2. Headgaskets got in yesterday, heads and waterpump will be here tomorrow, cam on tuesday. Uuuuuunfortunately, they're going to wait for it to warm up before going on the engine because it's gonna be COLD wednesday.
  3. That is a very nice color... Have the paint code? I was looking at going with something close to that when I decide I have the time and money to get mine sprayed...
  4. I'm using Chrome and Windows 8.1, no trouble pasting links or anything else into the textbox.
  5. Could try ctrl+v, that's another way to paste things. Other than that, I don't know how to help you. I've got the same problem 502ci does.
  6. Sorry, lack of caffeine made me confused. Thanks for clearing it up
  7. Ok, I was using Summit's compression calculator, and they wanted dish Pistons as a positive. What about converting to run an ethanol blend if I go to more compression? Up here in mn, it's pretty easy to find.
  8. Don't know if this has been asked, but I've been trying to figure out the compression ratio of the vortec small block I'm currently building (mainly so I can figure out if I want to go with different pistons). So far, the major hangup I'm running into is the effective dome volume for the stock flat tops with the 4 valve reliefs. Does +9.92 cc sound right? Supposedly the motor came with a 9.1:1 compression ratio from the factory, and it adds up if the deck clearance on it is .02"... And, if that does all sound like it adds up... Is it worth going to a piston with a lower dome volume to get somewhere around 10-10.5:1 compression ratio?
  9. Living the single life, so I suppose you could say my car IS my girlfriend. Gotta treat her right so she sticks around =P
  10. Was kinda hoping to avoid going to fuel injection, because the wiring makes my head hurt... Still, something to think about, for certain.
  11. Does anyone know if there's a supercharger out there that'll bolt to a carb'd 350 and still fit under the stock monte hood without modifications? I have a waaaay long term plan to supercharge mine, but I want to keep the stock body lines. They're just too pretty to mess up.
  12. You use any specific cables on those Abe? Been thinking about doing that with mine because I feel the top posts are more secure.
  13. Had a shop not far from my dad's place put in 2.5" true duals w/ headers and Super 44 mufflers, and the car sounded absolutely fantastic. (Until I blew it up a week later...) Haven't gotten to enjoy it running much, because of a never ending battle with a craigslist motor, though I'm swapping that out this spring for a modified low-mile vortec 350. Maybe -this- time I'll be able to make it to one of those car shows down by you, Rock!
  14. Mine's a hybrid... I have one front rotor with the groove, one without. I -had- been thinking that one was replaced, but now I'm not so sure...
  15. Also, the 245/60R15s are going to have a wider section width than the 17" tires due to a larger amount of sidewall and, in all likelyhood, a softer construction. You should be alright with the 4.5" bs like Sam was saying, and I don't think you'd have a problem running the 255s on it.
  16. Found some paperwork from the purchase of mine by the guy i bought it from, and drove it into work as a bit of a shakedown cruise. Seems like the air is out of the cooling system, but i need to put a bigger shim in for the starter... at least its a tall car, right?
  17. '72 350 smallblock/TH350 trans with an aftermarket edelbrock carb. The kickdown cable was disconnected when I bought the car, so I'm wondering where it needs to go (now that I've figured out what it is...)
  18. Not quite today, but got the engine in Friday night (3 am sucks!), got it timed and running Saturday, and hopefully I can get a hold of a dual electric fan setup today... On the good news side of things, I figured out part of the reason the last motor overheated and melted down. Now to prevent it from happening to the new(ish) one...
  19. I apparently need to check back more often... about the time you posted that was when i was putting one back together. I'd be interested if i hadnt gotten it in the car friday night. Thanks for the offer though, its a good price, and hopefully someone sees the post and picks them up from you.
  20. Beautiful car. Too bad I don't have the money to play those games...
  21. There'd be less sidewall bulge since they wouldn't be as pinched, but I don't think there'd be any difference in ride quality or handling... Personally, I like the bulge, so if I were going to be sticking with 255s I'd just run the stock 15x7s.
