  1. I had QTPs on my 69 Chevelle for 10 years, never an issue
  2. That looks nice.....let us know how the installation goes please.
  3. Please keep us informed on how your transaction goes. Interested, but cautious here.
  4. Ok, got in touch with this Charlie guy from Billet Art, but it sounds kind of sketchy. No website, just an email address? Has anyone on here dealt with him recently that can vouch for him? He sent me a picture of a 71 monte grill uninstalled and it looks great, but pictures can be deceiving and does not ensure a good fit. Just not sure about dropping $270 on a part with such doubt about the seller.
  5. I have them...same part number as Chevelle
  6. How much height adjustment is allowed with the Viking system?
  7. 1/4" Masonite for the left, right, and latch sides. 1/2" particle board for the floor and seat side. I did the seat side thicker since I made one door rather than two as called out on the plans. That way I can fit extra camp chairs back there.
  8. I bought the patterns from him and cut them myself. They are finished but I have not installed them yet.
  9. Agree with Andreas....I tried to install a set much like those in my Chevelle and ended up selling them. Way to much fabrication. Save your nickels and get the direct fit ones.
  10. Me too.....great if we can get a discounted group buy going.
  11. I had the Street Avenger on the 350 crate engine in my '69 Chevelle....ran real good with it.
  12. I have been told the same thing by many suppliers.
  13. Problem solved....he emailed me back and said he made a mistake and quoted me for the 1972 grille which is still in development. He will honor the price of $287 shipped for the 1970-71 grille.
  14. Ok, I must be missing something here. I just received a reply from the Billet Art guy on Ebay and he said the 70/71 grille is still in prototype stages...looking for local cars to fit it to. He also said the price is $350 shipped, not $287 shipped like two of you guys got it for. How can it still be in prototype when two of you got them in 2010? Did I contact the wrong guy? I told him that I saw the product on here.
  15. +1 on the Eastwood product. I used the grey for some headers on my 69 Chevelle and it held up well over several years. Just avoid touching the finish with greasy hands because it wont come off. Periodic touchups blended in well and a little goes a long way. Follow the instructions and do the proper break in procedure to cure the paint.
  16. Having a hard time visualizing this part installed. Does anyone have an actual picture of them installed?
  17. Yep, had to get fittings for the oil sensor. Off to Home Depot again. Thanks for the input.
  18. Did some research and forgot that the previous owner had put camel hump heads on the car. The heads that he installed do not have a provision for a temp sensor Looks like I will need to find some kind of fitting to adapt from the large stock sensor to the smaller aftermarket one. The idiot light will have to go unused.
  19. Ok guys, dumb question here. I am adding aftermarket gauges to my 1970 Monte Carlo with a small block. I would like to keep the idiot light, so was looking for an alternate location for the temperature sensor. Plus the hole in the manifold is too big for the aftermarket sensor. It appears the sensor for the idiot light is in the intake manifold. I remember on my 69 Chevelle I placed the aftermarket sensor in the driver side head, not in the manifold. On the Monte it looks like the header flange is blocking that location. There does appear to be a hole in the flange on both sides of the engine, but the gasket is covering up what is behind the hole. Before I go cutting up the gasket I wanted to see if anyone knew there was an option to mount it there. I really don't want to pull the header to find out, so hopefully I can just cut the gasket away. The passenger side is actually easier to get to...is there an option to put the sensor there? Any help you guys can provide is appreciated.
  20. I was wondering if that glass worked out for you. Looking for confirmation that Chevelle quarter glass will fit a Monte. What year Chevelle glass did you order?
