  1. Krobb2000. Sounds like the pump seal. A fairly easy and inexpensive fix. It is the seal for the torque converter. I would r&r the seal and enjoy the car while you make up your mind on which overdrive to use. Everyone has their favorite and their reasons why. With that being said, my vote is for the 200r4. A grand national unit or Monte SS. Better valve body and servos. I don't like the gear spread from 1st to 2nd in the 700r4. Again, my .02
  2. I believe what you are looking for is at the bottom of the page if you scroll down.

  4. Just caught a TV show, AmeriCarna, with Ray Evernham. They did a show on Joe Bonamassa getting a GTX for his parents. Original air date 3/31/16. season 3 episode 5.
  5. Msd atomic fuel injection kit. My brother has it. Extremely easy. Hopefully he will chime in.
  6. Beautiful Monte Carlos and enjoyed the story! Especially love the 'vert!!!! My colors too! Lol would love to have or build one!
  7. Hi Wayne. To remove the seat belt retractor covers you pop the secret "door" open and then remove the bolt inside and remove the cover and seat belt retractor. The "door" is usually on the skinny side that faces the back seat.
  8. Spectacular job! She looks great! Nice job! Wow!!!! 😃👍😄
  9. Or this wheel, which is a 72 custom wheel and uses the wire for the horn
  10. Yes, my brother did and I got it from him.
  11. Thank you all! The updated site makes it easy to post pics! Thanks to all who made this possible!!!! 😃
  12. The wire for the horn locks into the plastic piece that sticks through the lock plate.
  13. And the first pic is the 71 402 4speed Monte, numbers matching.
  14. Thats a plastic cover. Some have some don't. When you take it apart and the horn plate is on the spring? Yes? The spring then sits on a collar of sorts that slips/locks into the upper bearing. Is that there? And silly question, is the horn relay, near the brake booster good? The column is pretty straight forward.
  15. 72 covert tan, one owner 73,000 original mile 71 black, one owner 68,000 original mile- daily driver (not a straight panel on it) 70 SS cranberry red, not numbers matching ☹️, 496 bought from original owners son, who was the second owner. 1984 cavalier, 468, tube chassis, 9.90 car. Lol
  16. Hey Frankie. I think I'm following you. Here is a pic of the column I just did. Does yours look like this? This will have the sport wheel so the horn wire is different.
  17. Sorry Frankie, I don't have an exploded view for you but maybe I can assist anyway. I just rebuilt a tilt column for my 72.
  18. I'm sure everyone has their preference but I use the "red" wheel bearing grease. Have never had a problem and stays where you put it like the factory grease. That's what GM told the dealer I worked at in the late 80s to use. Lol
  19. How old are the "new" parts? A hose to the caliper can be bad. You said the master and booster have been changed. All stock style parts? You also mentioned that you unbolted the master cylinder and still had pressure. I would check the master. Maybe the pin between the booster and master is too long and some rust has formed between the two not letting the master return to rest position. If all that checks out, I would check the proportioning valve. Before changing it I would crack the line from the master and check for pressuer and then crack the line from the valve to the front brakes. If pressure there, the valve is not returning fully causing the brakes to be on a little. Of course it could be something else but I would try those ideas first before just throwing parts at it. Good luck!!!
