  1. Bought my chevelle cross member @ super chevy swap meet for $20. Nice and solid now. Inexpensive upgrade, gotta love that.
  2. I would have threaded the lug on a lil deeper myself.
  3. Im pretty much a novice in every sense of the word but try to do as much as I can before I call on Steve to help. He does just about everything on the car. This technique I'm sure is used by many but I thought it was cool and worthy of posting. In Sept. I broke an axle on my BOP 10 bolt at the track. I got into tearing it down recently but had to go to my neighborhood mechanic to borrow a slide hammer to get the axle out..That worked out great but if i would have seen this video it would have saved me the trip. I'm going with a ford 9 in now which will have bolt in axles as well and I will definately use this technique for quick changes of the center section if i decide to switch it up in the future... The beginning of the video is torturous so just go to frame 210. Al
  4. Grinning devilishly....I ordered a fabbed 9 in rear from Crazy Davey a few days ago. Cant wait to get it in. Come on Spring!!
  5. Wow David, cant wait to see your time slip w/ the new trans and convertor....Go get em!!
  6. My Coan 10in 3000-3500 flashes to 4200 and on the street is tighter than a frogs [censored] under water. lol

    Ideas??

Jimbo, your carb is a 780 and your converter is a 2400-2600. Ask me how I know guys?? They were mine..lol.
  8. Glad your home and doing better Rob!!!
  9. your car looks awesome Jared!!!!
  10. Back in the day gm did some weird stuff on the assembly line...My 70 has a BOP, its on my build sheet too. you can tell by looking at the cover..if it has 2 scalloped shaped "C"'s on each end, its a BOP. Plenty of posts on this in the forums and Mikes link is helpful as well.
  11. If its an 8.2 bop, its a bolt in axle, no c clips.
  12. yes it will....355s are a great all around gear too. you'll love them.
  13. To answer your question of how high can you take a 350?....I'd say high enuff for a good reliable street strip deal...Look at my old 350 which was only punched out 30 over to a 355ci, stock crank and rods and 2 bolt block. a good set of pistons, a proven performance cam(XE274), a great set of heads, eddie intake and prosystems carb..some people said it would be too much for the street....no way, no how....I could have driven cross country with that motor and still rip off high 12's @ the track. If thats what you have, build it if you want...if you have $$ then you could go big cubic inch like I did but get ready to spend some serious dough..my receipts are still in hiding from the 427..lol...Good luck w/whatever you build and enjoy it...just remember its all about the combonation of everything...it snowballs fast...enjoy the ride buddy!!!
  14. Scott, if you lived in NY you'd make us scramble and buy more parts...lmao!!
  15. Scott, say goodbye to 12.60's buddy....Looks real sweet...lots of luck with the build and I hope all goes smooth!!!!!
  16. thanx guys steve and I set it without any preload but no one was sitting in it....ill have my wife sit in it when she gets home free it up once again and then send it home....thanx guys, i appreciate it.
  17. I did not sit in the car....didnt see that in the directions till after it was in....it is set w/o any preload if that helps....is that a bad thing??...Thanx for responding guys.
  18. My car has the BOP rear and it came from the factory w/it....its even on my build sheet....pricey to overhaul but strong...Mines doing fine behind my big cubed small block so far.
  19. I have the HR parts and stuff ARB on my car. The directions say to put the clamps around the axel tubes 21 inches apart for "street/strip" and 26 1/2 inches apart for "race/limited street" I talked to Paul the owner and he said that I could put them out at 26 1/2 apart if I wanted and it would be fine for how I drive, it just might be a tad stiff to my liking. I tried both and I like them far apart on the race setting...I was just curious what you guys did w/yours and if you change it up? Al
