  1. I seen them on ebay before. A friend of mine bought them and said the fit was not the best. By the way looking good.
  2. Bruce I have the original carb the part number is 7041200. I matched the gasket with what came off of it but the car didnt run good before so maybe it was the wrong one also. I gues I will try to take the carb in and try to match one up.
  3. The factory quadrajet I guess I should have disclosed that.
  4. I have a bad vacuum leak at the base of my carb anybody have a pic of the one they have used. Everybody keeps showing me the same one I have at the parts stores.
  5. Put a battery in it fired right up also bought a new trans pan gasket and filter Im tired of putting cardboard under it.
  6. My 71 is also stamped CF. Do you have any more pics of your car.
  7. What 10 bolt do you have now. The BOP 10 bolt that came in some 70 Monte Carlos had different shoes ask me how I know.
  8. Nice collection. Looking forward to seeing more pics.

  10. Dont give her to much trouble you dont see girls that like old cars that often so lets not scare her away lol.
  11. You can spray the plug wire with salt water to check during the day. If it starts running worse you know a wire is bad.
  12. I know the power steering and a/c brackets are different here is a link to a list of parts. link They say the water pump aly and power steering pulleys are the same.
  13. They list one for hipo big block I would assume it is for a big block with a Holley.
  14. GM parts direct list three on for sbc 2 barrel one for sbc 4 barrel and one for a big block. Now if you can use them on other applications not sure. Here is the link any Chevrolet dealer should be able to get them.
  15. Congrats David bet you cant wait for the next year.
  16. Davey nice setup sounds like it would be a blast.
  17. Looking good. As long as you enjoy it is the only thing that matters.
  18. This could be a long shot but on Chevy pickups they have a similar problem. The slip yoke gets rust on it and catches we clean them up lube them and put a Isuzu spring in the yoke to keep pressure on it. Not sure that is your problem but it would be worth a shot. My dads 91 Silverado feels like the shoes are stuck and then it pops and off you go.
  19. It should be Chevy orange the blue was used in 76 or 77 and later engines. It seems like my first 76 Monte had a blue engine but my 76 Malibu had a orange engine.
  20. Wallaby I thought the same thing lol. Not sure if these guys still carry the metal bracket part but they did when I ordered mine. link They carry Pontiac parts.

    leak insde

Block it off for now and when you have the parts and time to fix it do it right. It does take time and you will probably end up replacing or fixing something else while you are in there so be prepared to open
