  1. In reality Vaughn they were quite different. Yours is a 71 and mine is a 70. The original build date for mine is the last week in June of 1970 so they are about a year apart. rob
  2. Mark, If I am not mistaken the pre-registration for the Carlisle Events closes after Monday. I think then within a few weeks we start receiving our gate passes in the mail. rob
  3. Vaughn, when I first looked at your build sheet I thought it came from the same dealership as my Monte so I had to look at my build sheet. Mine was also a Baltimore plant but it went to Gilbert Chevrolet rather than Gearhart Chevrolet. Yes, it is neat he lived on Monte Ave.. rob
  4. I couldn't get yours to load and I found the link I posted while trying to search yours, it was nice to see the 70 Monte listed #2. Not sure what I feel about them listing the AMX as #1 though. rob
  5. If you take the number 11 and multiply it by 4 your result will be the same as our 44 days and a wake-up until our members start arriving in Carlisle for our 25th Eastern Meet rob
  6. Looks like a repair seminar going on there. rob
  7. In the link below the 70 Monte Carlo SS is the number 2. I don't think this is the same one you were trying to link to rob https://www.topspeed.com/forgotten-american-muscle-cars-every-enthusiast-should-know/
  8. When you say you are not able to see NEW messages I am not sure if you are talking about a Private Message someone has left for you or messages in the open boards, please try to be more specific. Maybe this will help also. When you go onto the club website. From the main page, when you click "Forums" it will take you to all of the available forums. Then you look down the line of forums, if there are any new posts in that forum it will show in BOLDER LETTERS the two little quote bubbles to the left of the forum identification will also be in heavy black rather than shadow gray Once you go into one of the forums with the bold lettered forum, any of the topics in that forum that has a new comment to a post will have a heavy black dot or star indicating someone has responded to a post or it is a new topic. If you read a particular post that you would like to respond to you can click on the (+) Quote under that post and the system will populate that persons post with an area where you can type your reply. It is a learning process, you will catch on. rob
  9. Another day has passed and is in the books which brings us to 45 days and a wake-up before Carlisle starts to be invaded by the first generation Monte Carlo Club. rob
  10. Beautiful Monte and that front plate really dressed it up even more. Looks like it arrived a day early. rob
  11. Lyle, That is what I gave always thought too but any car with "standard" equipment could be ordered with a "delete" on some of the standard equipment. rob
  12. How does 46 days an a wake-up sound to you. This meet will be here before we know it. rob
  13. Steve, i have sent Dan a text message that you are interested in the brackets and if possible working or non working compressor rob
  14. We are now down to 47 days and a wake-up until our 25th Eastern Meet. The anticipation builds. rob
  15. Very nice Monte, and it looks very clean. rob
  16. Who are you talking to the prom. With a first gen Monte you should have no problem getting a fine young lady on your arm. rob
  17. Our countdown is now at 48 days and a wake-up. In exactly 7 short weeks from today our first members will start arriving in Carlisle. rob
  18. Michael, As others have said, it really cleaned up nicely. Do you know why your father-in-law stored it in the barn all of those years? Yes, that is a factory AC setup. Looking forward to seeing your progress. rob
  19. IT HAS HAPPENED!!! Our countdown had entered the 40's. Today we are at 49 days and a wake-up until our members start invading Carlisle for our Eastern Meet. rob
  20. Here are some pictures of Steve's Monte's, at least one if them is an older picture. rob
  21. But that's not true for our club site.
  22. Steve, it was great to talk to you yesterday. I am glad you have become our newest dues paying member of the club. Talking to you, I am impressed with your obvious positive attitude regarding your cancer treatment. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your battle. rob
  23. There are now just 50 days and a wake-up until the First Generation Monte Carlo Club members start arriving in Carlisle for our 25th FGMCC Eastern Meet!!! Tomorrow we will be entering the 40's in our countdown. rob
  24. Brant, Please answer the things I posted above, such as how long you have owned the car? did you inspect the car and drive the car prior to buying it? exactly what is wrong with the engine? if you didn't inspect or drive the car prior to buying it did you have someone else do this? how did you find this car? have you talked to Jared to ask him what he knows about the car from when he owned it? Is he the one who put the engine in it? Yes, you should expect to get what you paid for but without more information I I would find it hard to accuse Scott of being a scammer. It should always be a buyer beware when buying something on the internet especially if buying sight unseen. I would suggest you contact Jared to find out everything he may have done to the car when he owned it. Rather than coming here to post something negative about who you purchased the car from your time may be better spent considering legal action. Many states have a "Lemon Law" when it comes to vehicles, that may be something you may want to look into also. Calling him a scammer here is something you should not do without more proof. I would also suggest speaking with a lawyer. rob
  25. I have seen several people using Larry's suggestion. There is also a part that some vendors sell for this purpose. It makes a nice tight fit without using any sealant like silicone or something like this. rob
