Thats right Dave. I got me a METCO loop a few weeks ago and I'm going to get rid of that piece of junk Universal loop I spent 3 hours trying to install and it still ain't right! I guess you get what you pay for on those universal loops.

Metco Motorsports here in Anderson has a very nice loop for our cars. First one on the page. $69.99 METCO Driveshaft Loop
  3. Yeah I have some. Give me a call 864-940-2146
  4. We also would like to know the proper line to paint the outside rocker panel and how far the line comes up on the inside of the door.
  5. I would be interested to see if my car would pick up much ET on all out race gas vs. 93 octane. My Big Block is only around 9.5 compression ratio, and runs 93 just fine, which is good considering race gas is $7.50+ a gallon. I really haven't had it at the track enough to play with anything, just can't afford to run it that much. It'll probably be a ....while before I get max ET from my car. You retired people have it made...Davey!!!
  6. Ok we need to know how exactly to tape out the tailpanel for the 1971 SS. I'm thinking up to the body seem where the quarter panel is welded to the tail section on each side under the trunklid, right?
  7. hmmmm... That sounds good, I think I might go ahead and place an order.
  8. Royce, Mine was about $700 with shipping and all, I hadn't seen anyone else post the cost of theres. High yes, but a locally built carb was priced at $650, and even had local people say "ProSystems are the best, but expensive" They build them to your specification based on your engine combination, I think the starting price is $590 and goes up, give Patrick a call, he'll fix you up. Being they are built to spec, you put it own fire it up and you're done, all I had to do was adjust the idle.
  9. I'm running one also. No issue, all I done was adjust the idle! PM Sent David.
  10. I've got the fastest set of wheels in town....REALLY 1973 454 Pass Car block...040 over Pro-Systems Carb MSD Ign with pro billet dist Erson Cam Pro-Comp Heads KB Pistons Weiand Stealth Intake thats purty! Holley mech fuel pump 26" tall, 10" wide M/T slicks Built by Richard Savage 6 Point Roll Cage Stock Fuel Tank Holley mech fuel pump w/reg Turbo 350 Trans built by Cooks Racing Transmission(can't beat there price) 4:11 Gear Strange Axles Positraction The sorriest suspension you could have, 30 year old front shocks and spings, i'm not even gonna talk about the rear. Best ET 7.41@92 MPH in the 1/8 mile on the worst prepared local track at the end of race season. 1.63 60 ft if I remember correctly Now for 2010 Updating suspension all the way around to a more Drag Race setup, I'll leave it at that for now. Line Lock And some other stuff I have the $$$ to do.
  11. This is terrible news. I kept hoping we would see him pop back up on the boards, but I once I seen "A knight has fallen" I knew it was bad news. I'll definatly miss him. Great guy, to bad I never met him in person, but talked to him here on the boards a bit. Kind of hard to believe he's gone, it will not be the same without him here!!!!!
  12. Very Nice Dave. That coat was a good idea. Looks good around the shifter.
  13. I've heard 140 MPH is easy in SS 454 with 2:56s. Thats what I've heard, from someone who had one a long time ago. There is not telling how fast it would actually go if you had the suspension and tires to support that kind of speed, time to go pro touring style.
  14. I wondered why Leo repainted it red on his reconditioned tailight bezels Of my large number of rear taillight grids for 71-72 I've had/have, never noticed any red paint, but like said I guess it didn't last long. I personally like the chrome showing, but I would have to see the bezel with the red installed to see if I like it that way.
  15. Dang we'll be prayin for him. I hope he gets better quick.
  16. Thats cool Royce. There was new Camaro running on the dyno at PRI in Orlando, the ETs, MPHs and 60 foot times were so unrealistic it was pathetic. It had like a 1.0 60 foot.
  17. Nice Greg. Whats the estimated HP gonna be on it?
  18. I like to go to this site ever now and then, I don't know how accurate it is, but its a .500 system. Its called Create a Ride. I know I know a bunch of ricers, but ok to practice on the tree. I did cut a .500 one time. We used to play around on this site in Middle School. Scroll through the backdrops, the backdrop button is in the bottom right of the screen till you get to the dragstrip and tree. Dennyweb.com Creat a Ride The only thing about tree practice things, is it takes longer for your brain to send a signal to your hand that it does to your foot.
  19. Does it involve 1 molecule of Nitrogen and 2 molecules of Oxygen? Or something like that??? NO2
  20. I started at 8.34 with a one 8.5 run, now I'm down to 7.4, and hope to maybe see Dave's times... So according to us you should see the 7s, no sweat! Not bad for a first time Royce, was you spinning the tires? Don't feel bad about not doing so good, I don't know my car yet either, I only have about 20-25 passes under my belt with this kind of HP.
  21. I also have the C Clip Elimators. No issues here. I've heard a Spool is dangerous in the curves Never drove a car with one though... Sounds like a tough rearend Royce, I don't think you'll have any trouble.
