  1. A tad pricey IMHO https://www.collectiblemotorcarofatlanta.com/vehicles/981/1972-chevrolet-monte-carlo
  2. I also went with the strange axles, luckily my buddy had a series 3 and 355 gears "in stock" so can't offer any suggestions there. (EDIT) Maybe overstating the obvious,, make sure you put the additive in when you finish the swap out
  3. Ive had to pass on stick shifts over the years, the old knees can't handle it anymore.
  4. Now who's being nit picky 🤣 Don't shoot the messenger I'm just posting the info 🤣
  5. Just throwing this out there, nice little x-mas present for yourself. Very handy, I like the CD's so I can print what I need and not worry about my paws ruining the paper pages. Theres 2 options, https://www.faxonautoliterature.com/1970-Chevy-CD-Shop-Overhaul-Body-Manual https://www.npdlink.com/product/shop-manual-on-cd-1970-chevrolet-incl-1970-chevrolet-chassis-overhaul-and-fisher-body-manuals-1964-72-chevrolet-parts-manuals/122155?backurl=brand/detroit-iron-information-systems
  6. 71 4 speed added to the show https://www.mecum.com/lots/1110846/1971-chevrolet-monte-carlo/?aa_id=541691-0
  7. Just passing on the info https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/listing/1972-chevrolet-monte-carlo-greensboro-nc-2757627
  8. Just throwing this out from my blue oval experience if I understand correctly. You changed the instrument bulbs to LED's? Someone can verify if you also need to replace the flasher can.
  9. Hey Ron, are the bow tie emblems on the valve covers considered a modification ? 🤣
  10. As others have mentioned, if it close go look at it. The video is a little better than the dark pictures. Main concern as mentioned "paint bubbling" and usual area rust. One thing I saw was gas gauge read E , maybe its my eyes but if not possible ground/elec issue. Do some research as your limiting yourself within a certain price range, first gen's are up in price. Below is a link for some Monte's on consignment, keep in mind there may be a 5 or 10% premium in the price if you go that route. Body and paint are EXPENSIVE, everything else is doable over time. And remember, original parts and pieces on older cars break https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/make/chevrolet/model/monte carlo?min_year=1970&max_year=1972 Good luck and keep us posted
  11. I gotta give props to anyone doing the power tour thing 🤘This year at Carlisle even one of the Fiero crew so had to even give'm props 🤣
  12. Yep, a quick shot/walk around @ around 12.59 in this vid. And 2 passes
  13. A 72 was just added to the docket , some nice mods if ya like that https://www.mecum.com/lots/1104441/1972-chevrolet-monte-carlo/
  14. When I talked to the rep for rotary, a 10K 2 post got a 4" and I forget the concrete spec. When the floor was pored they poured 5" and added 2" to the depth just cya.
  15. I can safely say that's NOT happening 🤣
  16. Thought I remembered someone posted this but I couldn't find the thread 🙃

I always thought with the wood stove more heat went up the chimney Mine went bye bye years ago Damn that was a heavy monster
  18. Haven't pulled the trigger yet, next year. I'm still leaning towards the 2 post as for the more versatile application. I think in another thread or maybe in conversation Joe also mentioned the foot print of a 4 post vs a 2 post. I had to google "rolling bridge jack" 🤣 I didnt read all the fine print, but would you need 2 ?

Dam Ron, unless its an optical illusion, that top piece doesn't look like it will fit in the splitter !
  20. Only see 1 first gen listed so far https://www.mecum.com/lots/1103389/1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo-ss/?aa_id=508242-0

Played 18 a few weeks ago, probably the first time in 2 years I've picked up a club 🤪 Only lost 2 balls so that might have tied my best last round 🤣 75 this am
  23. Been in Fl so long if its in the 60's I'm cold 🤣 Don't like to look of the Asphatic style but the other Joe posted looks good to me. When I did my electric fans I got the stuff from NAPA, but usually with gauges and little add on I just use the HF or whatever.
