  3. Luckily I had experienced help when I did mine I upgraded the axels at the same time
  4. I found that out the hard way 🤣
  5. A little pricey IMHO but what do I know 🤣 https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/listing/1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo-lutz-fl-2771477
  6. I have all the pieces in a box on a shelf, I know its inoperative I'll let the next owner worry about it 🤣
  7. I think the dash looks ok on a race car, not a fan but thought I'd post it anyway https://www.hemmings.com/auction/1971-chevrolet-monte-carlo-bernardston-ma-218885
  8. Guess I forgot the 🤣 on the end. Oh well 🙃
  9. Not that it helps you now, but I know someone who could bring you a standalone gauge for testing in Carlisle. Might be cheaper just to order one from Summit/Jegs test and return.
  10. Quick question, are you using the "original wire harness" for your dash gauge? Just wondering because of the note from Lectric
  11. 70 SS just posted. Interesting hood pad. No reserve which is nice for Mecum, IP and no p/w ruins it for my checklist 🙃 https://www.mecum.com/lots/1112786/1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo-ss/?aa_id=565486-0
  12. Just a reminder for those attending,,,,register in advance for the show field. It makes it easier just pulling in with all your documents in order https://store.carlisleevents.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=25
  13. Ive got Hagerty on the classics Knock on wood never had to make a claim but heard good reviews
  14. Yea its a Blue Oval car, but WOW how much ingenuity and skill goes into these builds blows me away. Just thought I'd share https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJHr4rmQ4lE
  15. They tuck up nice and close too. Just saying
  16. Well I got 3 sets of different spark plug sockets for mine, but I'm ok with that 🤣
  17. The exhaust cut-outs are more of a problem 🤣
  18. I think sometime prior there was some comments made about a monetary jar at the meet, If I remember correctly both you and I have to contribute 🤣 The 2nd comment really hit home for me....When I got back into classic cars and got my Cougar, I was telling my buddy its been so long since ive turned a wrench. He just shook his head and said you weren't very good at it back then. 🤣 But he's been there in the trenchs with me through that and the Monte. Ive received the same help here since day one with all my struggles 🤣 Especially the folks that pm'd me and said send me a pic of what your talking about or call me and I'll walk you trough it. I'm still in awe of all the knowledge and willingness to help another out. 🤘
  19. Just a suggestion....Use the search engine in the forum. There is a lot of history and posts on headers over the years. Be warned, I had a legal pad full of notes when I did that, brands, model numbers, and fitment.
  20. Well how some things sure have changed 🤣 OBVIOUSLY I'm joking ! For those who are "unaware" of the "imaginary Monte" chop busting going on occasionaly here its because I've been to 3 meets without my Monte. As has been said, its more than just a car show, its an experience. You get to meet the people behind the screen names and see some really NICE Montes. Not to mention having some fun along the way. For anybody worried that they may not want to participate in some of the planned activities, DON'T. These things are planned to try and give club members a variety of options over the weekend, they are NOT mandatory. And don't worry if you don't think your Monte is "show worthy", nobody cares. As Joe said, if your on the fence, book a room, 63 registered club members should tell you something about much people have enjoyed these events
  21. Thats what I was thinking........I have a few of that style for at the track (water/whatever) But when it comes to my "adult" beverages I still use the old school foam Koozies.
