  1. I tried to look at the GM Heritage Center documents, but they're no longer available online apparently. They used to have all sorts of information, specs, part numbers, etc. Maybe someone here may have saved a copy of the .pdf document for a 1970 and can post the attachment here. Then we can go thru it and see what part number it says was used. This was the old link, but now it just re-directs to some generic GM page: http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Monte-Carlo/1970-Chevrolet-Monte-Carlo.pdf
  2. 5/8" goes to intake manifold.
  3. Yeah, I get it. Except for my Monte, the rest of my vehicles are black. Here's what I started with. Took over an 11 pound spool of MIG wire to do the needed metal work (floors, 3 of the 4 engine compartment panels, patches, etc).
  4. Very nice Mark! I restored a Cougar Eliminator for someone years ago, but it certainly didn't start out nearly as nice as yours.

Nah, no worries about that. Thank you!

Thanks Rob. I was in so much pain on the way home, we almost turned back 😢. No pain meds prescribed, just ibuprofen and some cbd gummies my buddy gave me from last time. Much better now that those things are kicking in. Thank you John! Thank you Tom!

Thanks CK. Waiting to go in there right now....not liking it 😉 Did get the trans installed today though.

I didn't fix anything yet, but I'm guessing you meant 'Shirt', lol?

I asked about labor re-imbursement, they say it's not the warranty policy. If I had to pay someone else to do it, I would have tried the credit card route for help. It's in the 30's here at night lately, but supposed to warm up over the weekend, but I'll likely not be doing much. Doubtful this is the last time for surgery either....Another one scheduled for Nov 19th, but that may change too.

I'm in the velcro chair now, trans will go in tomorrow. I have to kill the day anyways & not supposed to eat anything after midnight and have to be at the hospital at 2:15 PM. Who knows when I'll get to eat after that. That'll be the worst part, no food all day, well....maybe not 🥺. Gotta love doing needless work. Charge accordingly.

Well, the transmission came back today from SilverSport. There was an issue with a clearance in the tail stock that stopped the reverse gear from fully engaging, causing it to pop out when rolling. They fixed the problem, and kept me informed every step of the way. Turn around time was pretty quick, they tossed in new break-in oil to replace what was initially shipped, and also 3 quarts of Syncromesh oil for after break-in, plus a T-shirt (a $4K shirt in reality 😜). In the spirit of me liking to do everything twice, I'll probably put it in again tomorrow, right before I have to go thru the same surgery I did 4 weeks ago in the afternoon. Having fun....
  12. How did you ever make out with that deal you had on FB, with the guy who provided his own Fedex label Mike? I noticed the tracking for it said 'delayed' the next day, lol. Joe T
  13. We have a CKZ03 that's a member from Michigan. Rob beat me to it, lol. Last time he logged in was July 10th.
  14. I had mine restored from a place in California a couple years ago. All told with shipping (expensive), etc it was about $800, for all 3 pieces, and that included them painting in the black accent lines. The original gentleman retired, but I think his partner is still doing it. If interested, LMK and I'll look it up.
  15. Pretty much what I do as well. I do use Autolites in my Monte & Camaro, but AC Delco in the rest of the stock GM vehicles. NGK seems to work great in my CTS-V & ZR1 though. When it came to customer cars, whatever the OEM had, is what I used. Stay away from Bosch plugs at all costs, unless random misfire codes are what you're looking for 😁.
  16. If that's the case, I'm thinking Mongo will be in the front seat & Dennis will be in the back, caged area.
  17. Isn't that the one you had rebuilt Willie? I'd contact the rebuilder first, see what he says.
  18. I saw that & figured that's what he meant Tom, and put the 'K' in bold on the reply 🙂. Me personally Ray, I think the car sits just fine as is. I wouldn't want to lower the rear at all.
  19. Any side pictures of how it sits currently?
  20. No worries, there's a lot going on in that page. Factory service manual has pretty much the same info & pictures, for the most part.
  21. There are no other pages that relate to this, just what's shown. I'd use the Frame as the reference point, as circled in red. . Obviously, the tires you have on the car will make a difference, as they address with the 2 separate entries for size. Are all 4 of your tires the same size? Notice they give a fairly wide tolerance of +/- .38" too, that could be nearly an inch when comparing front to rear. (C60 means the car has A/C as well) I didn't check the factory service manuals, I'll look later, after dinner.
