I think there's a plastic inline fuse holder, with a 30 amp fuse, in the engine compartment that feeds the max blower. It may be in, or close to the plastic wire gutter that's bolted to the firewall (probably will be closer to the passenger side). The wire may be orange, and will terminate at the horn relay buss, which is the power feed for it. I'll double check a wiring diagram in a bit, getting a slow start today 😴

Yeah, that'll use up a few days of your life that you wish you had back...... It took me about 7 trips to the paint jobber to get the tan paint to match the vinyl top. Hopefully you have a black top.

Some are deceptive too. One of the Olds diffs has 12 bolts on the rear cover, but only 10 bolts on the actual ring gear inside the case. It'll have a smooth rear cover, unlike the Chevy cover with the rib stamped on it to direct oil to the bearings.

Belden Speed has trim stud layout diagrams, but apparently not for the Monte vinyl roof. BOP rear diffs are entirely different than the Chevy 12 bolts, and typically less desirable as well.

Looks like everyone made it home safe from Syracuse today. Can't say enough about the good time had by all out there! It was on my bucket list of things to do, and now I'm wondering why I didn't do it years ago. That being said, it wouldn't have been nearly as fun back then, simply because it wouldn't have been in the company of our FGMCC brothers! C.K., Dennis, Doug, Willie, Mike, Frank, Steve L., Bob B, & myself (and a few others I'm sure to have forgotten, sorry) had a great weekend accompanied by great food, weather, conversation and hijinks 😁. Also managed to meet a bunch of other first gen owners that will hopefully become club members in the near future as well. Didn't take nearly enough pictures, and any pics of the show field wouldn't do it justice in any was at all. Consider that Carlisle is around 80 acres, ... Syracuse is something like 400 acres and the numbers I've heard mentioned say anywhere from 9000 to 11,000 cars in years past (no idea what this year had yet). I took one picture in the early morning before the cars came, but it just doesn't capture how far & deep that section of the grounds go. Cars EVERYWHERE! The quality of the machines were also mind-blowing, just exceptional. A couple of the guys took better pictures & hopefully they'll post them up when possible. We've already made plans to meet up as a group next year, hopefully a lot of other members will join us as well. It really is a 'must see' event for anyone interested in cars, and well worth the trip. Promise you won't be disappointed. Finally, thanks again C.K. for lining up the hotel (and everything) as well, what a nice facility and location that was too. Great job!

Well Jerry, you've come to the right place to share your stories & pictures. This group likes pictures, lots of pictures! Also the nicest and most helpful bunch of people you'll find on the planet, bar none. Don't ever hesitate to ask questions or provide info either, this group will never give you grief or problems....well, except for a couple of troublemakers....😁

It's been painted & restored, though I don't know the timeframe. Interior is all original too. He ordered it with the rear load leveler, has the air compressor in the trunk currently, as well.

The original engine gave up after 250,000 miles I think he said. Put in one of the first GM ZZ1 crate engines to replace it.

No doubt, I hear it pretty much every night, multiple times, when I'm at one of those things.

Didn't need to, he has already been on the site looking around. But, I did give one to another great guy who was a past first gen owner, looking to get back into one. I think I talked him into joining & also coming to Carlisle next year. I spoke to him late last year & a few times this year already. He & his wife are just wonderful people. Just amazing the number of great people I've met since getting this last Monte.

Saw this great 72 Custom tonight at a weekly spot that usually gets 5-600 cars. He approached me near my car at the time, mentioned he had one there, so we went to look at it. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a Custom as well, plus the fact he ordered it new was just outstanding! He had all intentions of joining the club recently to meet us at Carlisle this year, but an A/C problem in the car squashed that idea (happy wife, happy life). Beautiful car Jerry, here's hoping you join us next year at Carlisle, and to seeing you the rest of the summer here, locally.

Yeah, if you're planning to properly address it in a few months anyways, it's not a terrible plan to at least let you enjoy the rest of the summer. Like Dennis said, just keep an eye out for leaks and fluid levels.

Is this the sign you're referring to? So, Dennis messages me one day, says he's at a swap meet, notices these signs & immediately thinks of me.... Long story short, he picks them up & brought them to Carlisle for me. If the shoe fits.... 🤷‍♂️ (The neighbor sign is supposed to go over my buddy Doug's car (and club member) for his winter parking spot in the new building.) Still haven't found the time to hang them yet, but it will be in the near future.
