Got a few hours sleep in my own bed last night (better than those chairs at work 😴 😁). Cleaned & painted the engine real quick this morning. Maybe cut the grass and start with the assembly. Probably start from the back with gas tank, fuel & brake lines while the other painted parts dry a bit.

None of your business, hahahaha...

What did you do to your Monte Carlo today?

She let you take a break from your chores? -
Thanks Willie! No need for a 4th chain, it worked just fine in that position. I turn the exhaust fans on, sucks the fumes out. The black enamel Centari with hardner tends to settle on the floor a little, it stays sticky for awhile. No big deal, it'll wash off. The big shop stayed pretty clean.

Thanks! Plenty of materials in stock here....electrical tape is cheaper than the masking tape for certain things 😄

Worked all night, tried to take a nap this morning but not much luck. Decided to paint today instead of tomorrow or Friday. Some stuff is chassis black, other stuff is gloss black. Stopped after spraying the semi-gloss to run the dogs to the vet for yearly shots, then figured why stop now. Sprayed the gloss parts and now it's done. Let it dry a little then start assembly. Still need to clean up the engine a little and spray that orange. Maybe tomorrow or Friday...

Couldn't that be considered 'alcohol abuse'? -

A quick test would be to remove the spoiler, go for a spin and see how it works. Most common method to troubleshoot something is make one modification at a time. Then you'll know what made the most difference/improvement. Is it the spoiler (doubtful), or the shocks that made the most difference. Just a thought. -

Eat more cookies and chips, then put some a&& into it..... -
It'll be the whole floor pan, front to rear. I don't really want the overspray in that part of the shop anymore, but I'll just cover everything up like I used to before.

Last year I think I got the last set of Pirellis in the country. Been looking for an extra set ever since, just to have in stock. No such luck, which means no smoking the tires. Not easy to do with a LS6 454.

I was just going to hang it vertically, but with the third one I can vary the position if I want while painting. The channel on the ceiling is Unistrut, versatile stuff. This frame is relatively light compared to the A-body ones. I'll probably just leave the rest of the car on the lift to paint underneath, vs. putting it on the body cart, wheeling it around, etc.

Getting closer to paint. Hope to get the frame, floors and various parts prepped by the end of the week.

I have 255-55-17 rear and 223-60-17 on front which seem to fir pretty good, no clearance issues. Only problem is finding the rear tire size nowadays. The only readily available option is a Bridgestone Dueler tire, which from prior experience with that tire is bad. Searches will show a couple from Pirelli, but in reality they're not available at all, discontinued. I thought I found some 2 days ago on ebay from discounttiredirect, but they were mis-labeled and were actually 225-55-17.

225 is about .5" taller and about .4" wider. This site is real good when trying to figure out tire sizes, comparisons, etc: https://tiresize.com/calculator/

The factory used bolts that thread into the upper shaft as you noted. Aftermarket replacement shafts tend to be threaded and use the larger nuts to secure the control arm.

All-Metal is a type of body filler. Heavy duty, water proof, a lot of metal in the mix and hard as rock, difficult to sand. Por-15 is a type of paint coating. As Larry said, DO NOT get any on yourself, it'll be there a long time, lol.

Yeah, it's still out there. Not cheap, but nothing is anymore. I've had what's left of this can for a while. " It's been suggested" .....LOL...I knew the rest of that statement wasn't going to end well ...hahahahaha. It may be cheaper to suggest having her little party at a restaurant hall instead...just a thought.

It's good stuff, lol. I just put a skim coat on the subframe surgery a half hour ago.

Floors are shot anyways, no big deal.

That magic machine won't be of any use if that captive nut plate in the floor starts spinning.
