  1. Was perfect weather back in May and also this September cruise. Couldn’t have asked for a better time or better people…
  2. Yal, fix it day , again. Never ends. My gmc Sierra stereo just didn’t sound right. Come to find out there’s no sound from left channel rear of front. Left dash works . I figured mice !. Ugh.. but I googled it and seems to be a common problem. Speakers go out. So I decided to research that first instead of wiring. Take drivers door panel off and sure enough, speaker 🔈 no continuity. Same with rear door. Ordered and they be here Monday. A pain to get to , to replace. But I like good music! 🎶
  3. Had a great time last weekend going back to the 2023 eastern meet location for Somernites Cruise. Made me wish we were all there like in last May. Such a wonderful time.. For those of you that didn’t get to attend in May , and those that did , but didn’t meet the Somernites cruise Executive officer, Keith Floyd. I have his picture and a note from him to you guys .. He helped coordinate our cruise activities during our EM. The following pictures we’re taken by Their Cruise photographer this past weekend and posted on there Facebook pages..BTW, only one other first gen MC there last weekend . He comes every show and yes has been stalked to become a member in FGMCC many times. From Keith Floyd : Quote: “ It was great your club included our cruise in your Eastern Meet, Your cars and members really drew a huge crowd for us , and personally it was a pleasure to meet your club members and see so many beautiful Monte Carlos from many different states. Please feel free to come visit anytime and Your Club is always welcome here.”. KF. “.Chief executive officer Somernites Cruise “ Mr Floyd was sent a nice thank you official letter , for his contribution ,from our FGMCC president’ Rob Peters’…
  4. Yes, Dan Janes , typically he has reproduction or original, he should be manufacturing me a set now :)...
  5. Sure hope you can, it’s a big plus , keep in mind tho , the concrete will probably cost as much as the lift... this is 4,000 tensely strength and 16 inches deep... 2,300$.. luckily I got the lift at a bargain price from a school surplus bid.. 330.$...
  6. Thanks Rob, not enough of these rare jewels around these parts to keep me afloat.
  7. Did some work underneath, coated body belly with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator black paint, matte finish . Changed oil, 15w40 Rotella. Loaded up on trailer for return trip to Somernights cruse next weekend in Somerset Ky to revisit FGMCC 2023 eastern meet location. Always a fun time their as was the Eastern meet… 3 day trip this time.. had problems with the wheel straps as I did in Carlisle eastern meet in 2022. Dennis just walks up and connects them with one hand in 5 seconds. Thanks again Dennis T.. Must be my fat fingers , I cant get the straps thru the wheels !. Anyway, loaded up and ready !!!!
  8. Finally got nerve to raise the 71 on the lift!.. got a lot done to it this past two weeks underneath.. had been a few years since I had laid on my back working on it on a cold concrete floor. This sure makes it nice 👍🏻 Yes, I know. , it doesn’t qualify for stock or street, :). Or who knows what. But I like it 😊
  9. Wish my shop looked that good !!!!!
  10. Good to see all those nice first gens. Thanks for the pictures.
  11. Nah , just get some covers for the motor electrical and the tower post. Doubt I’ll enclose it . Also gutter the car port metal so doesn’t get as much water around it. Seems to be working fine. The concrete bolts have all been torqued . Printed the owners manual ‘ after having to fix the printer’. Which specified 150 lbs psi on the bolts. The printer only had paper dust on the rollers. loaded up the red tractor yesterday on the lift . With the front loader, and fluid in tires , about 4,500 lbs. did ok. Want to be sure about the lift integrity before raising up the Monte. As there is no replacement for it. Need to do a few things underneath. Get it ready for Carlisle PA. Woohooo!
  12. First test of the lift. Mower service. This sure beats laying on the concrete under it to service it.
  13. Unfortunately no, can’t be sold .. I don’t have but 7 head, so it’s a bigger loss. Expect to sell the remaining ones . Not really worth the trouble.. plus would have more time to play 🚙 🏆…
  14. Nah, was stressed metal on the lift. 40 years old . Really, I think the bus just got tired and decided to nap 😴
  15. I. Remember when the 900 kow came out in the 70s. Then the 1,000. If that Yamaha 1000 is faster I can’t or won’t be on one 😅.
  16. Great looking car!. Great choice!
  17. It is finally finished!!!.. lift works like new. Ladder is on there so I could level power side to slave side . I’ll lift something light first like a 4 wheeler . Do some adjustments so nothing goes up thru the car port roof… been waiting for this apparatus a long time. Will be a big help to me.. “ On to the next project “!. 👉🏻 PS . The last picture is how not to install a lift in a bus garage!!. Or, caption this!..
  18. Now that’s a method I hadn’t thought of to service my bike. That looks like a v- rod. Fast son of a buck!. Ps never take chances keeping old tires on a bike.
  19. In this case ,Bull power. Unfortunately he has to be put down.
  20. Once a year Hugh car cruise in Cynthiana Ky usually 1,000 to 1,500 cars trucks tractors. This year I missed out unfortunately due to a sick bovine I had to load up and take to vet.. going to somernights cruise in sept . In somerset Ky. Hopefully things calm down around here so I can go. Usually does by September. Already made reservations.
  21. So, now that I’m back to work, seems Friday midday and Saturday mornings are about all I have time for to work on the car lift. Saturday was sc—-we’d cause I had the sick bull I had to load myself and take to vet. My wife could see visions of him killing me right on the spot. So I hollered and told her I forgot to pay my life insurance:). Then she decided to help. 😄 . Nah , she would just have gotten hurt. anyway. Back to the car lift. Got the bolt holes 🕳️ drilled finally and bolts installed using bolts ordered specifically for a car truck lift up to 20,000 lbs… also used epoxy as recommended for installing .. started installing the lift arms with tractor. Hey Willi , you could have borrowed my tractor to install your lift, just come and get it 😂…
  22. Bought my filter o’ Reillys auto parts but most all parts store still stock them
