I agree Willie. I’m not even washing the car or possibly cars. Too much to do and so little time. Ok I’m gonna take a nap now. -
Headlight extension lower trim piece?
Dtret replied to 1Bad454's topic in General 70-72 Monte Carlo Forum
If you have two holes on the bottom of the headlight extension ( one being bigger) then it came with them. At least the extension did if it was replaced -

Yep. Your right. I thought you were talking about the hole in the bottom for the mount. My bad. -

The stem is there based on the picture. But probably missing 1/2 of the rubber mount. The original picture cuts it off. -

It looks correct. If you pull the tank off , be careful with the gasket, it will reveal the correct color if it’s been repainted. Do you still have the valve above the rear differential, center to passenger side? -

You can see the holes in the fender well. Save that for reference if you replace them. -

Very nice. The proof is quite visible. -
Be careful with these also. As of the last few years these are not of the same quality they used to be. But the price still went up.

Karen came home and said the new tires look like crap. The blue clashes with the green. lol.

Kinda talking out of both sides of my mind there. Did you hit the adult beverages a little early today? Ironically I understand where you’re coming from.

Generally for something decent the sad answer is yes. Walk in the parts stores and just take a look. Thanks Joe ( Biden).

The top of the line battery, no matter where you buy it are generally not the Korean ones. But regardless the top of line are made to the specs of the company selling them. The top of the line in one store may not be equivalent to the top of the line in another store. Just information here. Im not knocking personal choices.

Not as bad as I thought once I got the front off jack stands. New front coils should balance it out. I’ll clean the new white walls later.

Done. Bolts up, nuts on top. Looks like I will be changing the coil springs again. Do not like the height at all. Pic to follow as I need to do the front shocks yet. Not doing front coils at this time so the rake should be pretty interesting.

Ya. I guess I could have done a little self research. lol. Lazy I guess. Thanks.

FYI battery talk East Penn is the biggest battery company in the US. The brand they sell is Deka. That being said they make and label batteries for Napa, Oriellys, Federated, Tractor supply, Rural King, Car Quest and a bunch more. Johnson Control still builds for Autozone, Delco, Interstate and others. Korea is now a major supplier for batteries. Allegedly made to spec of the company they are building the for. A recent trend is a lot of companies are now producing batteries in Korea and shipping them here. Yes this includes all the big names we have come to know over the years. Look for integrated handles , that’s a good indicator of Korean manufacturing. My opinion is that the quality is not as good so they don’t last as long. A normal battery life is between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years. Not very long for what they cost now days. And yes some are made in Mexico but the results are the same. For those of you that have newer cars that require AGM ( advanced glass mat) batteries be prepared to plop down 300 plus. Battery chargers must be AGM compatible to charge and the charge and discharge rates are different so DO NOT change from the AGM to a lead acid battery you could have major electrical issues. Just a little FYI.

Please reeducate me here. Rear upper shock mounting. I seem to remember the bolts have a speed nut slid into the frame slot , but I’m seeing bolts, washers and nuts. Obviously the nuts are a PITA. Which is correct? AMK sells b,n &w and it’s also what was on the 72.

It may be bologna Willie. I have Delco’s in all my vehicles. But since the distributor of three states has the truck parked in my driveway, I’m kinda biased. Or more commonly termed, “ I got a guy”. lol. 😂
