Congrats to everyone who won awards and a hearty ‘Thank You’ to everyone involved in the behind the scenes logistics who made this event possible. While we didn’t quite get to meet and talk to everybody, it’s obvious that all present are good people and we immediately felt comfortable… well, except for when two giant bananas attacked Dennis - didn’t know what his fate would be as they locked arms with him and began to march away😂. See you all next year!

PS - literally just got home after a slight detour to meet the in-laws for lunch and a couple beers. I immediately hugged both my babies as I unloaded ‘Vicky’, and told them how much I missed them.

I’ll wager that I’m likely the ONLY person who brought a Ford product - originally registered as a ‘71 Monte SS - to a GM Nationals show and then park it with the stable of First Gens belonging to our club members. The many negative comments and looks of disgust were quite comical. But I actually had one gentleman complement me on the car after explaining the history of its acquisition and details surrounding how it wound up parked at Carlisle. I’ll wear pulling off this feat as a badge of honor 🤣😂

Nice pix, Rob. But I do believe the ‘Peoples Choice Award’ recipient was mistakenly omitted from her own glamour shot. It’s not everyday one comes across an ‘08 P71 CVPI in Performance White. I’m sure it was merely an oversight. After all, being in the presence of such automotive rarity would distract anyone 🤣😂

Been a long day getting here, but a pleasure meeting the group and hanging out. Good conversation and a ton of laughs - it’s like everyone’s known everybody forever. Looking forward to my first time at the Carlisle grounds tomorrow, not to mention my first FGMCC dinner on Saturday.

What’s funny is that I didn’t stick around and wait for the winner of first place to receive his/her award. Not to mention about half of those in attendance cleared out before awards were given, so no idea if they were still hanging around. The judges’ computers went down temporarily and people got tired of waiting for scores to be tallied. it was a long day and people likely had other plans for their Fathers Day. The guy next to me left before he was awarded 2nd Place in his class for his ‘65 GTO so I claimed it for him and will be sending it out tomorrow. Speaking of that… check out his scorecard, Willie. He got 99.81 out of 100 and placed 2nd. No clue what took 1st, but it had to be awesome.

Spent all day at a local show that I attended for the first time. Managed a 2nd Place in the ‘70’s Stock’ class. The “essentials” I brought with me (floor jack, tools, towels, detailing spray and cooler of beer and water) will need to be removed prior to judging at the next show as that’s what possibly killed my 1st place finish. Oh well, better than a sharp stick in the eye. Here are some pix in no particular order…
