    Might want to look at the heads of the rivets and make sure they are rosette and not just round pop rivets.

    They all have the V. Originally it was only on the bottom in 70 with no need for a notch. But when it was added to the upper on 71 SS the bulge in the panel was close so they notched it a bit. Every 70 and 71 monte used the same lower moulding but only 1919 upper mouldiing were used, It makes sense to continue making the lower ones but not the upper. But i'm probably wrong as usual.

    Why would the bottom need notched? it's flat. All that I have removed from the bottom are not notched.

    To maybe get this post back on track... If I remember correctly; back in the mid eighty's when I was restoring my silver 71 SS. The upper moulding was listed as a different part number but discontinued . Actually all the SS only items were. Hockey strips, that moulding and emblems. I think that is upper only moulding.

    Between Mecum and Barrett-Jackson Many millions of dollars spent on classic cars this year already. Old car market is booming, stock market having record highs, guess life is good if you are rich. Ready for some trickle down

    Welcome, I think you did fine on it. These cars are pretty pricey to restore. They should be worth more than a Chevelle cost much more to do. And they are getting there ; seem to bring as much at least. Enjoy it!

    Seems like parts are going up weekly on these cars. No way you could build that car for current bid and maybe not for buy it now price.

    Sounds good. I can use a foot of the wire with the end that plugs into activator out. Thanks

    I think the activators are all pretty similar. Might be able to pop rivet this bracket on different activator or maybe weld put of this bracket to another . should be able to make something work.

    I have the bracket and most of the wire; but that's it. guess the rivets broke loose and it got remove so it wouldn't rattle. Don't think anyone make these.

    I got 71 Black cloth covers for CARS INC. Very nice; But they run about 6 months behind

    That's my guess Most numbers are on firewall and mostly paint codes, sometime a option code. NO pics.
