  1. agreed....just for my own info what about an epoxy patch of some kind. It's not really a stress point, there's no pressure on the area, no heat problems, no leak issues...just wondering....Dave
  2. certainly if it was in the trans it would be just a tad messy. Let us know what you find....think I'll go check my converter bolts...
  3. Royce if it's an around town/track car with little highway then a built 400 (simple and strong). We have 3:73's with a 28" tire and it's still comfortable for an occasional trip on I-5....the overdrive is up to you but I personally don't think you need it .....
  4. very nice Jason..congrats....Chris (montecrusier) is doing that too. You should contact him and share notes.....Dave
  5. Medford is nice, June is still a little iffy for weather. La Grande would be better for weather but I like the idea of either one having a drag strip, participate or not it's fun to watch....JMO...Dave

    COYS WHEELS

as long as they're gold wire were cool with the 13's Pink......
  7. hey Jared.....got 10" M/T street radials....headers with 3 1/2 Borla header mufflers....HP??? maybe somewhere between 475-500.....3500 Coan 10" converter....3:42's (it's a street car)....400 trans....
  8. hey Jared, I found a 1/8 track not toooo far from me...think I'll try it out. Never done 1/8 mi before but our 1/4 mile track doesn't run very often. Going to try the Chevelle first....we'll have notes to compare. Hope I can get in the 7's....Dave
  9. awesome Jared....that's a big gain from last time. If you don't mind I 'd like to hear about your set up. If you don't want to do it here please PM me. I'm trying to ours set up and can use all the tips I can get....again, great time and congrats...Dave...
  10. alright Steve, keep us posted.....may the force be with you.....Dave
  11. Mike....that's pretty much how ours is set up too...Dave
  12. With the stall converter you should already have one Mike. The stall causes a lot of heat in most cases and can really stress the trans. It will take some load off the radiator too and should allow the car to run a little cooler and cooler is better. They are easy for the average wrench so I wouldn't hesitate if I were you....Dave
  13. just a poke at Rod Allan......your typing is way better than mine...
  14. what are you...some kind of electrician or something???
  15. Hey Chris, I think the basic question is, street car or drag car? If it's a street car (occasional track time) then I would stick with the 1 5/8" tubes. I suppose if you ran a 2 3/4" or 3" exhaust all the way back the larger tubes would be okay but IMO unnecessary. The big tubes look nice but all you're doing is adding expense and fit problems, the car is not going to go any faster on the street and you'll have better torque with the smaller tubes......Dave
  16. Jordan I guess it really depends on where you're going with the car. Ride vs handling, cornering vs straight line, the new dumped big wheel look or a traditional classic look. I would choose the ultimate look for you and then back into the goods that will make it work. There is some best of both worlds in the various looks and it sounds like you have done some research so picking the right combinations will be your key. There are others here who have a lot more knowledge than I on these things so I know you will get some good info. As for me I would not put anything bigger that a 17" wheel on a Monte for asthetics but that's just me. My experience with super low profile tires has not been good (harsh ride and some reliability issues). The low profile will give you better handling with less side wall flex.....JMO...Dave
  17. didn't they decide to secede...
  18. yes Pink, when I lived in Oregon the Spotted Owl was in great jeopardy...it's nice to hear that you are such a great supporter and concerned for every bird that gives a hoot..... Dave

    fan shroud

can't use it now 'cause the aluminum rad has the hose on the right side...
  20. thanks for the feedback Bill....actually I was going to use them on the Chevelle first but they're still too short. Yeah I think the load rating is stretching it, I'm going to order some different ones and return these. Still there is no load info that I can find so I'm going to call Summit and put it in their lap. I'll either go up on the Sportsman's or M&H has some radials too. You just confirmed what I was thinking so Thanks...Dave
