  1. I took my 71 out of storage last October. I don’t remember if I’ve ever checked the mileage since putting the 402 in it in the late 80’s. I’ve only put about 24,000 miles on it since then. I filled it up back in October and filled it up again today on the way to a cruise in and checked the mileage. This is the result. (402 with turbo 400, 3:31 gears, 2700 rpm stall torque converter)
  2. Jim, I took your advice and placed my order this morning. Both are showing mid week delivery! Fingers crossed 🤞. Thanks!
  3. Ed, Let me know if it arrives. I ordered mine two weeks ago on Sunday. It was supposed to arrive the following Tuesday but never came. If you get yours on time I’ll order again.
  4. Okay, I ordered Lucas 10W40 Hot Rod and Classic oil from Amazon 2 weeks ago and it’s still not here. They gave me the option to cancel my order, so I did. I have found these options locally, but I have used conventional oil in my 71 for 43 years and I don’t know that I want to go to a synthetic blend. Just looking for options. Thanks!
  5. Bob, Do you have any of these bolts and rubber spacers for mounting the compressor to the bracket? Thanks, Sammy
  6. I have used Havoline 10W40 in my 71 since the late 70’s. It’s getting harder to find and I’m not sure of the zinc content, so I just ordered Lucas hot rod and classic 10W40.
  7. Looking forward to seeing some video once you figure that part out.
  8. Chris, I’ll be praying for your brother in law.
  9. Ron, are you going to have the new tires and rallies on for Carlisle?

    Slap It!

Man! I would have loved to see that! Maybe you can turn her loose in Carlisle?😜
  11. He’s fixing it! I say we start a pool. It’s a yes here!
  12. Okay, now it makes sense. I’m missing those parts. I borrowed the pictures and wasn’t sure how it was put together. Thanks for the explanation!
  13. I’m sure that makes a huge difference. You’re going to like that on the highway. I would like to do the same with mine. That’s the main reason I’m trailering mine to the Eastern Meet. I hate running high RPMs for such a long trip.
  14. Yes, I will be in Carlisle. I appreciate your help and look forward to meeting you.
  15. Thanks Dennis. How do these hex shaped spacers fit into the equation? Does it thread on the bolt?
  16. My 71 had been sitting in storage for about 5 years until I pulled it out recently. Once I put a battery in it and got it running, I was surprised to see the clock was working. Went to set it and the pin came right out in my hand! Oh well!
  17. I’m missing these bolts and rubber bushings that attach the compressor to the mounting bracket. Anyone know where I can find these? Thanks!
  18. Clint, are you going to the Eastern Meet in Carlisle? I’m going and Bob who owns the Blue 72 pictured above is going as well. Anyone else from NC?
  19. Good Guys is in town this weekend and our local car club volunteers to help with the event. I’m helping with parking tomorrow. I got the 70 cleaned up So she looks good in the club’s designated parking area. I also resprayed the dash pad in a satin finish. The previous owner had done it in gloss and the reflection off the windshield on a sunny day made it nearly impossible to see.
  20. Man! I haven’t been on here in a while and I’ve missed a lot! Congratulations! I’m looking forward to following your progress.
