  1. We are talking rear end arms. Can anyone tell me if the rear boxed control arm bushings are the same for the front and back, on the same arm? Also is the upper control arm bushings the same for front and back for the same arm? I hope i asked this correctly. Thanks for your help.
  2. So you guys are saying to use the FatMat under the roof also? I am not only looking to keep the noise out but i am looking to keep the heat out. Yes it will have the vinyl top also. Andy you are right was a PITA but i used a small, stiff putty knife and got it all off. Thanks Guys
  3. Thanks Mark thats just what i was looking for. Thanks Willie
  4. Does anyone know where i can get the insulation or sound deadner that sticks to the roof? Also the insulation that goes above the headliner? I dont see it in any of my books. I do see the Fatmat but not sure if thats for the roof or just for the floors and doors. Thanks for the help Willie
  5. Fantastic Dave!!! Nice Runs.
  6. Al that really stinks. Had almost the same problem many years ago. I had a 68 Chevelle 396. Just sitting there one night as the car was running, i started to hear some really crazy noises from the engine. I drove it home (only about 5 blocks). Took a look, and it seams for no reason at all the stud that holds the air cleaner on broke in half, vibrated loose from the wing nut and got sucked down into the #8. Good news was after i tore it down, the stud was imbeded in the piston. No damage to the wall at all. So i had the heads done and a new piston, and i was on my way. Hope you have the same luck as i did.
  7. You have her flying Dave. Niiiiice

Capri i did get the jacket its sharp, i will try to get pics up soon. Rob i would be more than happy to park next to Capri and Queenie anytime, even if i have to keep cleaning the drool from my car after the hundreds no thousands of people look in awe at Queenie.

  15. Its great to have people in our club always willing to lend a hand. There was a family next to me. I dont remember his name but it was a dark blue '70. He was with his wife, and his mom and dad came up alittle later. All nice people.from upstate NY. He had a pic book in the front of the car with him and his dad in the pics doing the work. Car was in good shape i thought, just had to be tweeked alittle.
  16. Hello everyone, just wanted to say congrats to all. I also want to say i met some really great people this weekend and had a great time. I met Rob for the first time, great guy, love the two tone paint. Jim great job on getting out of the heat by being called to duty on the inside, and also for the pics. Brian i think yours is a winner. Mike, we have to build you a garage. Dave i didnt get to talk to you much but your car is sharp. Tony (Green Means Go) thanks for info over the phone. Greg and Capri i would like to say, thanks for not sleeping for 2 days car is perfect. CK looks great even if you had to cram a week of work into a few nights. Steve i wish that make shift WD40 would have worked, car is flawless. And a bunch of other people i am sorry i forgot your names. I think from now on when i go bench racing i should be prepared to bring my own bench. I am so glad i decided to go. Now i have some other news. Some people know my Monte was not ready to be picked up yet.(Hopefully soon). Anyway because it wasnt ready i chose to bring the Grand National but they wanted to put me with the other GN's. I told them that i wanted to stay with my club. They said i might not be judged because i wasnt in the right spot. Needless to say i was judged but blew it off as no big deal i wasnt in the right spot anyway. Later that night i was stunned when this car pulls up and a young lady poses while someone takes her pic. I asked him what was going on and he said just taking a pic of a new and a older Buick. I told him he had to send me one, he said no prob. So i blew it off. Next morning i find out i won 1st place and Best Buick. So now its like James said.... YOU Mean, I WON!!, WHOO HOO!! I WON!! I didn't even think I'd place with the amount of quality cars that were there.OH,MAN I WON!! This is just too GREAT!! A 3rd place, BUT I WON!! It was a great show and I want to thank all the FGMCC members I met for the very first time.My car wasn't ready for the Ohio meet, (on stands in the garage Transmission out of it)and last minute items to fix along with it.I brought a toolbox just in case something went wrong. It was the longest ride in it yet.No problems there or on the way back,so it was a very good outing with it and I WON!! 3rd Place!Even though it was a tie I still feel GREAT about it!! Dave Schenk,How's it feel to win at Carlisle? This was the first big meet I'd ever been in with mine.ALL the Monte's were "top notch" in my book. Can you see me,jumping up, off the ground, fist in the air, and going, WHOO HOO!! YEAH!! Thanks Again, to all members, non-members, and everyone else I met at the GM Nationals!! Sorry for the extra long post everyone.
  17. Congrats to All Looked like a great time (sorry i couldt be there) Hats off to all that made it happen
  18. Just go slow with the utility knife and very little preasure i must of went around it 7 or 8 times before it came loose enough to slide the blade under enough to lift it.
  19. I tried it 2x. I used a pocket knife alittle each time working around the emblem prying it up very little at a time. I was able to get them both off but i did crack one. Didnt break it, just cracked it. After i painted them and let them dry for a few days i used a small dab of GE kicthen and bath silicone to hold the plastic cover in place. Make sure you put enough silicone in to squeeze it out the first time, you dont want to try and take the plastic off again.
  20. I am sorry to say i never met or spoke to him, but he sure made me laugh alot. He will be truely missed. Condolences to his family and friends. God Bless
