  1. I see what your saying but I just want a little bit narrower tire on the front than the rear but not to much because I do drive the car in all situtations, highway and around town its a stock rear end for now but when I switch it over to a posi im not going to go to high because I do drive it where ever I go. I would like a little bit of a rake but not going crazy with it. I think the car sits high enough that a half inch or so lower will be fine but want to stay with the same series front and back just a bit wider on the rear. Thank you for the imput would hate to make a bad mistake where safty is concerned.
  2. Looks like i'll will be visiting this subject sooner than I thought as I ruined a tire an my show this past weekend. I have 225 70 all the way around right now am thinking about going to 60s as it will lower the car just a bit and give me the look I want but didnt think a 245 or 255 would go on a 7 inch rim so good but if they will im all set. Maybe 255 60 on rear and 225 60 front, What do ya think?
  3. I'll pass not even going to comment on that Sat. I had a flat tire at the show I host. We do a cruise first then a show it was fine on the cruise and pulled into the park and the tire just went flat so it sat there at the show with a flat tire. sent another guy up to my house to get my jack after the show and put the spare on, all I had with me was the bumper jack and dont trust them especilly on the grass. So now I have 3 chrome wheels and raised white letter tires and 1 black wheel with a whitewall tire. Dropped it off this morning hopefully they can fix it. the show went just fine and we raised over 2 grand for the make a wish foundation. the day was in no way a loss what a great group of people we had.
  4. Nothing to shake a stick at it looked and sounded great. Also blew the doors off that rice burrner what ever the heck that was. The upper left bulb is out on your tail light though, Dont want to get a ticket for that. Great vids thanks
  5. Dennis I see you have a bolt in the banjo fitting on the brake hose, what also works great on those is a long tire valve stem after you pull it off just slide the stem in and nothing will leak out. I learned that trick working in a brake shop used it every time.
  6. Aggred it sounds like there topping out pick up on the back of the car and see if theres any free travel left on the shocks. If not you may have to go back to the other spacers or get longer shocks. They will make a god awfull noise when they top out.
  7. I didnt like the way mine fit or looked eather so I just removed it all together. The guy I bought it from was pretty proud of the fact he replaced it but did nothing for me. Havent seen any ill effects from removing it and like the bottom of the hood satin black better.
  8. The ball joint press can also be used for putting in u joints too. Great detail on that Dennis and great pictures too.
  9. And Thanhs car looks great on the strip too it would have been great if you and Mike could have made a pass at the same time at Carlisle that would have been cool.
  10. Yes there is a tool its a ball joint press. Some auto parts stores have tool loaner programs you may be able to do that.
  11. Yes 2.5 will be fine with a mild build
  12. Congrats Davey didnt you kinda have a feeling this season was going to be kinda special the way it was runnin so well so early in the season. Good luck and stay safe
  13. Thats a great shot there Matt how did you get the people away to get that every shot I took in Carlisle had people in it.
  14. I have what I think is stock sb a/c springs in the front and moog cargo coils in the rear with 225 70s all the way around I like the way it sits
  15. Way to many variables here. Did you have good flow from the bleaders when bleeding the brakes? How did you bench bleed the master before you put it on? was there any reason to belive the fluid may be contaminated with anything other than brake fluid? better flow in the front than the rear? or no flow? You could get a set of brake hose clamps and install them on the 3 brake hoses and try the pedal to see if its hard if so release them one at a time to see where the problem is. Most likely its not the booster that is just an assist device so you dont have to push so hard on the pedal when brakeing. Good luck but its just a matter of narrowing it down to one problem but getting there may take a while.
  16. Nice indeed even did the brake hardwear make sure it gets all lubed up on the pivot points.Anything that moves needs some sort of lube. Nice work, be carefull that crossmember dont gouge the wall up.
  17. I rebuilt mine myself did hundreds back in the day but still had problems so I sent it out to get it done. They found some stuff I didnt see so all was good untill a couple months later when it started sticking again, the throttle plate was worn out so I tossed it all and got a new manifold and carb and couldnt be happier. I have the old 2 bbl if you need any parts off it other than the throttle plate that is
  18. Bruce I may still have the one off mine if you want it I dont think I tossed it but not sure I would have to check. Let me know im not useing it and I think I still have the orig 2 bbl bracket if thats the one you have.
  19. Im interested in this too because I have to change my dash pad also and figured I would change the speakers while there. I thought I saw somewhere that aftermarket speakers wouldnt work but not sure. Also ive never changed a dash pad before so am wondering about that too.
  20. I talked to a glass place and the same rule of thumb applies for glass as paint scratches of you can run your fingernail accross it and feel it its to deep to get out I tried wet sanding and it didnt work I had a det ta deet monent when sanding on mine near the rear window now I have to live with it or change the window, Ill live with it for now.
  21. It may be an o ring type but I would have to check the book for sure. But that tail shaft seal should come out of there, may have to use a some force or seal puller but should come out.
  22. Is it possable you could have thrown a weight off the drive shaft especially if it something new . Has any other work been done to the drive line reciently? or suspension? possably rear springs and changed the drive shaft angle. Possably a dent in the drive shaft? bad u joint? could have thrown a weight off a brake drum also. Just a couple thoughts.
  23. Oh wow that shot came out great Mike, both Mikes that is great picture and great launch
