Pulled the rear covers off tonight still no build sheet but have a friend of mine tring something to remove the stains off the reg. she said she may have time tomorrow maybe i'll try to get ahold of the owner from calf. we'll see

Well today was the day to start tearing the inside apart and it went well. Everything came apart easily but this old body dont move as it used to ha ha. Didnt find a build sheet but did find a reg from 1977 from calf. I knew it was build in LA but was told it was shipped to Utah well i guess not. the floors are solid as sears and the orig sound deadner is even in great shape, Now I just have to wait till the parts get here but in the mean time the covers have to be removed theres a lot of them hog rings on there. Heres som pictures. old seat had a cover on for the last 3 years but it got worse Will put more as it progresses

Darn thats reminds me I have to change that brake hose before spring add another thing to the list. That list keeps getting longer.

Hey James I had a thought, I'll pull my th350 and all related parts out and you pull your 4 speed and all related parts and well just swap even. You dont want all that trouble of all that shifting and clutching and adjusting all the time. Just a thought I'll make that sacrifice for a friend. BTW I have relitaves in the Brunswick Topsham area thats where my dad was born. Good luck with it.

First thing to do is with the car off pump the break pedal a few times it should get hard and high then with your foot still on the breke with some pressure on it start the car the pedal should fade down a bit if it does the booster is working if it is shut the car off then pull the little plastic valve out of the booster blow into it from both ends one way it should let you blow through it the other way it wont if thats good then put it back and see if you can find where the hissing sound is coming from. a length of vacuum hose may be helpfull there one end by your ear and the other searching around the booster. try that

Be careful if you drop the valve body down theres little balls in there and they can and will roll away on you and thats not good, They have to be there in the proper place. I wouldnt suggest that unless you have to.

Some used an o ring seal and some had a seal that sliped into the case and the cable housing sliped into it but the rtv will work too. Might as well change the screen or at least clean it while you have the pan down if it hasent been done lately.

I need to do my dash also but cant swing it this year with doing the interior but may be able to swing the cap. opg has it for about a hundred bucks and I have the gift certifacate I got in norwalk last summer so it would only be 75 plus shipping. Its worth a thought even if only a one or two year thing.

Yes you do have to be very carefull putting the cam in as to not damage the bearings but when I went through the chevy engine assembly plant in 1972 while in gm school the guy on the assembly line would tap them in with a hammer if they didnt slide in easly that was kinda scary. Well at least mine was built in 71 maybe that guy wasnt there then.

yea tim i have 6 volts there. What its doing is reading 1/4 tank when full and moves down from there with the old one it was stuck on 1/2 all the time. Ya know what a light just lit up in my head from an eariler post about bending the arm that may be it now i want to kick myself for filling it before winter. well now I guess I have a spring project after the winter projects are over, Thanks guys for helping with that it opened my eyes, Steve
