  1. Heading over to the body shop this evening to bang out the door jams. Dave said he got the quarters looking good. Pictures to follow.
  2. I went out to Dave's Body shop this morning to help block the Shell. Dave has to spot prime a couple of little areas that are low. I'm suppose to go back out Tuesday or Wednesday night to prep the door jams. Then next weekend he is spraying color on the shell.
  3. I may have some connections at Nexteer. I work just down the road from Nexteer, formally Saginaw Steering Gear. Let me check with my Boss.
  4. Update on the Monte. Dave was out at his shop last night and pulled the doors and masked off the shell. Trying to post pictures for you.
  5. I should have it in Norwalk. It may not be completely done. Lol. Nothing to update on the car yet. My friends Dave had issues with other things he said, the past 2 days. I'm not going to pester him.
  6. I saw this on one of the Facebook Plastic model pages the other day and I want one or two. The nearest hobby store for me it's about 25. Minutes away.
  7. Well. It is finally happening. I trailered the 70 Monte over to my friends paint shop sunday morning for paint. My friend Dave has been in the auto body repair business for over 30 years. He currently works at Saginaw Valley FORD in Saginaw, Mi and operates a collision shop in Akron, Mi where I have taken the Monte. I will Post pictures here when he sends me them. He is going over my Work I have done to the car with a fine tooth comb, basically. Here is where he started last night with the upper left rear quarter. The doors will be coming off. He found some areas I missed. I told him last night that this is freaking me out cause it is going to be way to expensive for me. He in turn told me that this is a free Bee. He is not charging me for this work. Only for the clear coat and other materials. I am very Blessed to have a friend like Dave. If your on Facebook. Check out his Facebook page. Dave's Custom Paint and check out some of the work he has done.
  8. Yeah. Dave is spraying 3 coats of each. He has been doing this for over 30 years. I trust him allot. He is going over my car with a fine tooth comb. Cause he knows people will be looking at his work. And we have a few friends up here that like to nitpick. He is doing allot of this work to my car for free. I told him to also check out our club. His parents use to own a first gen Monte. Check out the link to his face book page I shared on my page.
  9. I m getting ready to load the 70 up to take it to Akron, Mi for its paint job. Pictures to follow. You guys will be the first to see pictures.
  10. Yeah. I'm pumped. Hopefully by this time next week she will be Fathom Blue again.
  11. Went out this evening and picked up the flatbed trailer from my buddy who is painting my Monte for me. Took the front fenders out to him also. Taking the rest of the car out to him Sunday.
  12. Sam. I'm staying with Fathom Blue. I thought you would like that.
  13. I have been waiting for my Painter to get back with me. Be stopped over a week ago last Thursday to see what I have for him. I'm getting antsy. I want to get my Monte in color before the snow flies.
  14. My profile stays logged in for a week or so. then I have to log back in. Doesn't matter if I'm on my Smart phone or Lap top. I don't log out. So I guess this doesn't help.
  15. All I need to do is drink some of Renes Fully loaded coffee and I'm ripping and ready to go.
  16. Worked on blocking and repriming the front end and rear pieces. I'm supposed to be taking to my buddies shop for paint the end of the month.
  17. Hope everything is good with Mike and his family. My ears still ring when I think back to when he fired up that Monte in his trailer for me.
  18. I have the 255's on 8" wide rallys right now. When I bought my 70. The 255's where mounted on 7" wide rallys and I never felt any issues with them.
  19. The only issue I had with replacing the bushing mounts on my 70 were at the very rear. The cages for the square nuts broke loose. So I had to cut into the rear pan support to get at the nuts. Then I just welded back up my cuts.
  20. Sprayed the final coat of primer on the body. Going to work on the front fenders and the rest of the pieces next weekend. Hope to ship it off to paint the end of October.
  21. I hope to be seeing some color on my 70 in October. I hope. I'm hoping to get the final coat of High Build Prime on this weekend, I'm just sending the Body and rear tail light extensions to my Painter. then sending the front fenders and hood and trunk lid and other small pieces to him in the winter.
  22. Thanks Larry. It is getting there slowly but surely. I'm trying to at least get it all painted for next summers Eastern Meet. Hope to be able to rent a U Haul trailer to bring it down.
