  1. I bought one today over the counter at SS 396. I'll post how it works in the future.
  2. Has anyone bought the new PW Motor that the vendors are selling? I'm trying to find out if they are a lot faster then the OER motors.

    Kindle Fire

Does Super Chevy offer a free APP to read their magazine or do you have to pay extra. I'm a subscriber. My wife has People magazine and she is able to read Peoples on the Kindle Fire.
  4. The only help I can give you is, that is not correct for your Monte. If you plan on keeping this car I would consider buying a new wire harness for you dash and engine compartment. Little costly but cheap insurance on your investment. Check www.factoryfit.com They make the best replacement harnesses.
  5. If you plan on storing that vinyl top I would roll it up. If you store it folded up it might show when you install. Go to a carpet store and ask for the round tube that the carpet is on. They always seem to have them laying around. Perfect diameter to fit the vinyl top in side. Are your trunk seams in the right place on the vinyl top? They should be right over the seam where the quarter panel and the trunk panel meet. Most Manuf. put them where the Chevelle seams go.
  6. I like Sems trim black satin. I did all mine 24 years ago and it is still on. You need to buy it at a auto body supply or Eastwood on line.
  7. Buy two new rally wheels with a greater backset. Thats what I did.
  8. Hey Dennis, the only reason I have the spacer on is because of the a/c hose. Did I mention I have a SB engine? Also the air cleaner I have is made by Classic Headquarters. They are approved by GM if that makes any difference. The air cleaner is really nice. Do it and you will love the look. Gm should have offered it.
  9. 1970 Camaro. Most all vendors sell them. Chrome top or Black. I needed a spacer for the top of the carb to air cleaner. I have a Carter 4BBL. I would have to check what the height measurement I used. Also you need a 1967-69 Camaro crankcase vent hose SB-12 from www.rickscamaros.com you can buy the Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner from www.nationalpartsdepot.com C-3402-4A fits 70-72 Z/28 Camaro. NPD is a real good vendor. They mostly sell the better parts and not so much junk. Make sure to check their web site out and request their catalogs. I just checked their Camaro catalog and they might have the crankcase hose, C-1762-4, no picture so I'm not really sure. Let me know if you have questions. Carl
  10. Nice air cleaner. I did the same duel snorkel on my Black 71 Monte. Looks so correct because of the room'y engine compartment.
  11. I always use this site. www.gmpartsdirect.com It will only tell you if the part is available and the price. The shipping is high but a lot of stuff comes in under the local dealer.

    71 Carburetor

Thanks. Link seems to be broke.Do you still have your 71 carb?
  14. I need some help with a 71 Monte Rochester 4Barrel. I need a carb. number. 350 engine. Big Blocks are also welcomed. I'm looking towards the future and would like to hold on to one. Thanks for the help.
  15. Do you feel the vibration at the shifter. Check those rubber isolators on the ends of the tranny crossmember. The crossmember is probably rusted and the rubbers are shot. Over 40 years old. Pick up a Chevelle crossmember. That will bolt to the frame and the problem should go away. I did mine years ago. I believe they repo that crossmember now. Yes, the vibration did come up around 60 MPH.
  16. I just ordered 2 sets. My friend Bob wanted a set. If you order 1 set the shipping was $10.95. If you order 2 sets the shipping is $12.00. 3 sets jumps to $18.00. So if you have someone that lives close to you get together and double up and save a few bucks.
  17. Yes. Well needed part. They install behind the plastic wheel housing. Can someone go to www.dixiemontecarlodepot.com click on to 70-72 Monte. Click on new products and then forward to this topic. Part #DA10222 $49.95 a pair. Also Part #DA16102 72 hood spear with emblem $79.00
  18. I did mine years ago. I used Ponitac Ventura Mirrors and I added to the bottom with metal filler. They still look good. I believe they were 1973. Also Nova 70-73 will work. The angle on the bottom should be 15 degree angle to sit right on top of the door.
  19. Pick up a Testors Paint Marker #2546C Silver Argent at a hobby shop or Goggle it on line. Also the Krylon Silver Leafing Pen at any Fabric Store will also work with pretty good results. Just remember nothing will look as good as the plastic chrome. No one has ever perfected a process that would be cheap to apply. Believe me I have tried everthing. Good Luck.
  20. Hey Greg. I just sent you a PM. Thanks, Carl
  21. I also would like to see that picture. I have a bunch of those pcs and if I remember I have one or two that are different in the middle. Always thought that 70 and 71 were different on the lower pc because of a larger notch.
  22. I was just told today by Jim Boczar that the color is Dove Gray. I did a search and found Plastikote #364 is Dove Gray.
  23. If your radio is stock, then it is a 10 OHM. You need to use 10 OHM speakers. The new speakers are 4OHM and will work a while but they will damage the radio. This is what Pioneer told me and alot of other people.
  24. That is correct. My 71 has the red.
  25. My S.S. is the same size as the hood insulation. Held up with automotive screws and small chrome door edge trim all around the raw edge. Each screw goes to where the insulation push ins would go. No extra holes. Car is driven and never had any problems with running HOT. Sorry no pictures. Need someone to help me with that. Carl
