  1. Brian, I believe he mostly does British vehicles and is located in the Southern part of Michigan a bit North of Toledo, Ohio.
  2. OK, I have already taken too much of your time but if I didn't mention these two vehicles, I would be sad. The Anglia was raced by my Brother in-law and two of his friends till about 1973 I think. It was sold and the second owner still has it! Top picture was at COBO Hall in Detroit for the big car show, AUTO RAMA. (That same car show is going on TODAY!) The TR-3B is still in the family since 1967 and just underwent a full body off resto about a year ago. I did a low buck resto in 1973 on it also.
  3. The 25" Chrysler engine, from a dump truck, has twin carbs and a T-5 five speed trans. My brother still has the original 25" long engine in his garage. I forgot how many cubic inches this one is, 250?
  4. Yes we have. This was taken 2 blocks North of where Grandpa lived and behind it is my Monte, sisters Firebird w OHC 6, then her husbands 39 Chevy and our nephews 57 Chevy, all going to the Utica, Michigan car show in 2009. Good times! No guns were ever at or with our Grandfather.
  5. Today 86 years ago, my Grandfather, Gottfried Stange, purchased a 1937 Dodge Pick-Up. He paid $479.75 from Hodges Dodges Ferndale Michigan and may have included a trade in of a Model T. One of my older brothers purchased it from Grandpa, in 1964 and still owns it! Here is a picture in of it in 2010, shortly after he restored it. This is part of the reason I still have my 71 Monte Carlo.
  6. Very nice!!! I still have the 71 Camaro and the 71 Monte I built back in 71. I painted both black. It's got less than 1 mile on it and never was outside in the rain or snow but it looks rough!
  7. Alan, good luck, glad you found the problem. I think I will go for a ride now, it is 1973, isn't it?
  8. I read somewhere years ago that you should NOT tighten the A Arm nuts (or bolts) fully till you have the weight back in place and the tires on and body / frame lowered to the ground. Then you can fully torque the nuts. Anyone else know if this it true? I could picture tightening up everything then it wouldn't want to rotate.
  9. Welcome! Great looking Monte.
  10. Great looking Monte Joe! I like the color and 71 is my favorite year.
  11. All the talk on the Air Cleaner page got me thinking back in 1983 when I replaced many of my decals on my 71 350 4BBL engine. I was looking around my closet and I found a large envelope from Jim Osborn Reproductions in Atlanta, Ga. from 1983 with these stickers inside. Then I remembered they didn't have the sticker that is on the Rad top support with timing info and such and they asked me what shape mine was in. I think I scanned it at work and sent it to them where they duplicated it and sent me several of them for free. Here is a scan of them and I have one for the trunk also. I didn't use the tire pressure one because it was wrong for my G70x15 tires.

Welcome! Great looking cars you have!
  13. Great to see all this stuff! Thanks for posting.
  14. Cool! I also still have my original spare tire and wheel. It's only 52 years old, what could possibly go wrong with it? 🤣
  15. I remember when I learned that my employer would add 50% of what I put into a retirement plan, I was overjoyed! I don't remember the limit but I do remember taking all they would give me! Good times. I also just remembered a fellow worker who told me how he had taken money out of his retirement plan to purchase a camping trailer. He then added how it was the worst mistake he had ever made and he hated camping.
  16. Joe, sorry to hear that. I didn't mention it, but my wife also worked at the Troy Lab and she also lost her job. One of the best days was when Jeff Gordon came for a visit. (One of two if I remember correctly)
  17. Dah...... My wheels were blasted then dipped in an electrocoat primer or (E-Coat) then sprayed with a (new at the time) waterborne BC/CC! Also all free. But the downside, I was 52 when they closed the lab and decided they did not need me anymore. Word to the young people out there, SAVE YOUR MONEY!
  18. There is an interesting discussion on Air Cleaners currently that I didn't want to disturb, so... I have a question about the proper OEM top lid decal for the different years and engines. It's been a long time but I think I remember my 71 350 4BBL from Canada DIDN'T have one at all. I remember adding a replacement decal after repainting my current air cleaner. I also added an extra "snorkel" to the driver's side for fun back in 71. I also painted it in very shiney DuPont IMRON, so I know that's wrong also.
  19. Welcome Mark! You have a great story and great car!

    ss registry?

I found it in my files of MC stuff, never added it to my car.
  21. My 71 Monte Carlo was built at Oshawa, On. Canada, 27 Apr 1971. It arrived at Bill Fox Chevrolet, in Rochester, Michigan, 12 May,1971. I drove it home 14 May, 1971.
  22. The EXCEL sheet has 9 different tabs, one tab for each for the different years and the last one they are all combined. I have so many EXCEL sheets on my PC, you wouldn't believe it..........
