gprimm
My rear springs are 30 years old and I think I should replace them. What springs have you used that might give me about an 1" more lift?
Canuck
I installed Moog OEM style springs in my car which brought it up to stock height. It is amazing how much the original springs sag.
502ci
Several ways to bring your old springs back to life "other" than replacing them. One is to install airbags inside them...this way you can raise it exactly that 1" you want. Replacing them can cause them in some cases to be either too high, the same, or even lower. cny first gen 71
I used the moog cargo coils in mine cc501 mine also has air shocks but keep a low amount of air in them so to keep a good ride. I load my trunk up pretty good with camping stuff once or twice a yaer and get no sag out of it at all.
gprimm
Canuck, how far is the wheel well trim from the ground? If I could know the measurement, that would help.
Canuck
1970 with new springs in all 4 corners: The rear is 24.5 inches and the front is 26.75 inches. 1971 with original springs in the front but new in the rear: The rear is 24.5 inches (same as the 70) but the front is 24.75 inches. The 71 is 2 inches lower in the front. Both cars have 245/60/15 tires on 15 inch rims.

420ponies
Steve, Thanks for chiming in on this. I could not remember the Moog number (old age) and wanted to respond, I had a friend go with me to the Syracuse Nat's (Scott), and had commented on how nice my car rode. That was the the 1st time he was ever in it. Definitely the springs for a cruiser Monte!!
