robbo
Ign switch has gotten stiff and won't spring back when starting. Any ideas what could cause that?
Dtret
Just to be clear are you talking about the key/tumbler or the actual ignition switch ( bolted to the lower shaft on the steering column). ?
Blake350
as stated, the spring is in the ignition Switch located on the column--I always move thru the positions very slowly and carefully so as to hopeiully not break or bend the little contact points in the switch itself
MC1of80
The key cylinder only turns the rack in the column that pulls the rod that is installed into the actual ignition switch towards the bottom of the column. As stated, that is more than likely the culprit. The aftermarket makes these. Just make sure you get the correct year and manufacturer. One from the same year Chevelle works also.
