DDay
Can you guys tell me if it is fairly easy to install a 4speed.Already have buckets and console.
Heckeng
I think it can be a little work. There are several guys on the forum that have converted though, they'll have good info for you. You need to start collecting all of the parts you'll need, and I believe you need to weld in a small "hump" into the floorpan for the shifter. Leo Konik of Konic's Classics can help you with the parts. Sam (Bones)
the frame mount for the "Z" bar is monte only piece, if you use a factory shifter, you will need a factory 4 speed crossmember too, the cluth pedels/linkage is avaiable aftermarket
Mikstudie
It was fairly easy with mine. I got all the parts out of a 69 Chevelle SS. I had to use the Monte drive shaft with the front yolk off the Chevelle drive shaft.Everything bolted up and I was able to use the Monte speedo cable although it is about 8 MPH off! Mikstudie
I did not have to change the crossmember but did need to change the mount. Mike

Andreas
You will also change the flexplate on the engine to a flywheel and install a clutch...
Archer
Don't forget the issues with the Pilot bearing. that willbe the hardest part of the conversion. Assuming your crank wasn't fitted already.
Mikstudie
My stock crank was the right size for the pilot bushing. I'am telling ya it was the easyest conversion i ever did! Mike
Sam (Bones)
I've done a few 4 spd conversions in my younger days, never had a issue with installing a pilot bearing/bushing
