Stuckin70s
I am looking for suggestion for a build to support the car body off the frame. Space is limited. This would just be from the firewall back to the tail. Wood or Metal build. Thank you.
jft69z
Are you looking for something that's movable, or just stationary storage? Before I got the body cart to move & store the shell, I'd just use a couple 4x6's and jack stands to put the car body on. I've also just used the jack stands on the 4 corners of the pinch welds with no problems. You can see the 4x6 at the front & rear, supported by the stands: Just the stands: With a body cart to move the shell around:
Rancid87
I made one out of wood and made it wide enough that it would hold the body where the inner and outer rockers are welded together. I used some casters from harbor freight so I could roll it around when I needed to move it.
willie
I did the same as Steve, I used 2"x6" wood on top of Harbor Freight large swivel wheels so i could send it to the body shop as i restored the chassis.
