evman140
I have the interior lighting package (not sure what the build sheet code is off the top of my head but...) and when I got my MC it did not have a lightbulb in the ashtray, but the wire going from the gauges to the ashtray was there. Does anyone know what fixture goes in the ashtray? Does anyone have a picture by chance? I've never seen one, thanks everyone.
monte70car
As Allan said its a fiber optic cable it gets its light from one of the bulbs in the dash and sends light down the cable to the ash tray.

evman140
Well of course. But more specifically, does it come out of the top of the mirror?
monte70car
It comes out the bottom I do not remember how it came at.
72-CLASSIC_RIDE
The Map Light assembly is removed by gently compressing each side of the map lens housing and pulling the assembly down and out. You must be careful not to compress the sides very hard or the rail on one side or both may fracture or break off where the pressure was applied. Is very brittle after all these years. The bulb removes with the assembly. Replace by simply pushing assembly back into position and again, gently apply pressure to each side of lens and release once secured and thats it! overdrive
Good instructions there! I'll only add that you may want to pull the fuse or disconnect the battery first.
