CHERRY70SS
What size tires are you guys running on your ss? Thanks Mike
iceman
My stock SS has the factory G70-15 Firestone Wide Ovals. My clone is running BFG P225-70R 15.
Canuck
Here's what a bunch of us are running. http://www.firstgenmc.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=197478&page=
Monteman1971
Stan has the correct size tires listed for both the bias ply and a radial. Are you going to keep the factory rim or go with an 8 inch "Corvette" style? I only ask because a lot of guys go with the bigger rim but then those size tires won't fit the 8 inch rim without looking silly. Mike...have you posted pictures yet? Are you keeping it all stock? CHERRY70SS
Steve, Just got the car delivered today I will try and figure out how to post pictures, maybe one of my kids can show me. I am going stock on this one since it has all matching numbers. Thanks Mike
iceman
Steve, My radials are on 8" ralleys. They don't really bulge at the sides like a stock tire but i like that look.
Monteman1971
I've had 225/70's on 8 inch rally's as well...they don't look bad...just a little more bulge than I care for...The biggest problem was during mounting...the tire guy had a heck of a time getting them inflated because they are kind of small for such a big rim. Capri's 71 SS
I had a tough time finding tires with the white wall width exactly as they came in '71 but I got VERY close when I found these tires & managed to get them just before they got discontinued. I have Cooper Lifeliner SLE WW Touring P225/70R15
stangeba
Thanks to Capri, I also have the same tires. I did have the big block letters shaved off at DIAMOND BACK. They can make you any size WW on just about any tire you want. Bruce
