7tonemonte
Welcome Rick! Im not sure about the big block, but a person I work with has a small block car with dual carbs on it and a stock hood, That may not be much help to you, but anyway
black07ss
I can't be of any help with the carb question but welcome to the site......oh and do you have any pics??
cny first gen 71
Welcome to the site. I cant imagine that the manafold and carbs is much taller than the stock as long as you get a real thick air filter or put a tunnel ram on it. I guess I wasnt much help eather but good luck and we do love pictures and welcome.
wallaby
The intake looks low enough to work, but the question is the height of the air cleaner assy. It's easy enough to get a drop-base filter housing for a single carb, but don't know if such a thing is avail for dual carb. Maybe the guys at Summit or Edelbrock can give you an assembled height measurement?
Mike 57
Welcome Edelbrock lists heights of their intakes on the website. I know the RPM Airgap fits so maybe you can compare to it. Like Mark says, the air cleaner may be the issue. I ran a drop base with the Airgap.

Mike 57
The old style eddy C66 intake would be the best bet for clearance if you want to stay with a flat hood.

I'm up near the lake Rick. You need to set up a picture host like car domaine or photobucket. copy the url and paste it here. I am quite computer illiterate. It took me quite a few do overs before I got it right. Some one smart like Tony will chime in to help out
