jja
My parking brake pedal seems kinda loose to the extent that it does not retract enough to turn the red brake light off when not depressed. Is this adjustment to the brake pedal near the fuses or do I have to get under the car (ugh!) and tighten some sort of cable?
Sam (Bones)
unfortunately it sounds like one of the cables is sticking
stangeba
I also think your rear cable/s at the drums are frozen / rusted. I have never needed to adjust the cables on my 71, ever. I wonder if you could free them up by working the parking brake, apply then release, over and over and over. It could also be the front section at the firewall........ cny first gen 71
If the cables are the oe style with the metal shield around the outside you could try to spray them down with something like pb blaster, then work them back and forth, if they have the plastic shield (aftermarket) that wont work. You have to find out which one or all is sticking. Replacement is not really fun but not the end of the world.
