abe72
Hello, I the Monte out for a evening cruise on Friday and for the most part it ran pretty good. However, after being in traffic for awhile their was a stretch of road in which I was able to let it run, after letting off the gas the Monte began to bog down and eventually shut off in the middle of the road. tried to start it but it seemed like it had flooded out (smelled like gas). After moving to the side and checking under the hood definitely smelled like gas and I saw gas dripping from the carb (could tell from where). After a couple of mins the Monte started right up and hasn't happened again. What could have caused this? I had the carb rebuilt recently and will take it back this week. Just want to have some idea of what could've happened. Thanks.
bigtankjones
I have had a float stick on a 2bbl, which cause fuel to overflow and flood the carb before. Ended up replacing the carb.

Sam (Bones)
replace the needle and seat also, I've had many Qjets have them stick, tap with a hammer and you are good to go, they usually stick after a hard acceleration
stangeba
Perhaps a piece of junk got stuck in the float.
383monte
I agree with stangeba, are you using a fuel filter?
