  1. Not just the acceleration, but the weight of these things scare me. Speed + weight = bad things in an accident.
  2. The states that are mandating these to be the only cars you can buy in the coming years is pure idiocy.
  3. I have one that is backlit with red LED's. Someone on Facebook made them years ago.
  4. I had a front upper control arm bushing completely let go while driving back in 2000. Luckily I was in a neighborhood close to my house when it let go.
  5. No problem, thanks for letting me know!
  6. I'll claim the 72 grille if no one else has.
  7. Yeah, I do too. I don't believe they re-pop the non Corvette version anyway. Amazing how much design and effort GM put into these. Heck, they put more design thought into those hubcaps than they do with some cars these days!
  8. Restored an undented but in need of a restoration set of P02 hubcaps. Put them on the polishing wheel, repainted the black accents and replaced the center caps with new ones from Trim Parts. Nice change of pace from the rally's from time to time.
  9. A 3rd gen Camaro overflow jug works well. Will mount on the wheel well nicely.
  10. The one I'm referring to is being offered by SS396 and being manufactured by a different company than the OPGI one.
  11. I use the Chemical Guys yellow microfiber towels. The key to keeping them nice is do not use any fabric softener of any sort when washing them.
  12. Hi Doug, did you get a confirmation of that from the folks at SS396? Their rep has stated that their repop is metal in the previous posts above.
  13. And with that news I canceled my order with opgi and ordered this one. Fingers crossed that it arrives this decade and its actually really metal!
  14. I can't find anywhere on the SS396 site that indicates what that grille is made out of. What has me intrigued is the price difference between theirs and OPGI's. OPGI's is confirmed plastic and made by Restoparts. The SS396 one appears to be made by GroundUp, so I'm wondering if they are indeed completely different repops. I'm hoping the 140.00 price difference for the GroundUp one means its a metal one. For what its worth I called their customer service last week and the lady said she "thinks" its a metal grille, but take that with a grain of salt because they do not have these in hand yet. I have sent an email inquiry to them asking for confirmation on the material their grille is made of but haven't heard anything back as of yet.
  15. No, not due until August according to their last email. Once I get it I'll post a full review.
  16. Called SS396 today in hopes of getting some more details on their grille. They are A. Also on backorder and B. the person on the phone didn't know what their grille was made out of. I was hoping to find out that they were metal grilles because theirs is a full 120.00 more dollars than I paid for the one at OPGI.
  17. Probably came down to sales numbers. I think out of the 3 years the 72 was the biggest seller. More 72's more grille orders potentially.
  18. For further context on my fix, I had to order one of those little eyelets that has the little "arms" on it so it can lock inside the isolator. See the link below: https://www.opgi.com/interior-accessories/steering-wheels-accessories/wood-steering-wheel-horn-contact-set/horn-contact-set-67-76-gm-ch31717.html The order of items that go into the isolator are as follows: the spring (longer one than came from the kit, see pic above purchased from Lowes - I had to cut to length that worked best for our application) Then you feed little aluminum receiver through the eyelets with the "hat" end of it facing down so it rests on top of the spring inside the isolator. Then you can lock the eyelet inside the isolator. From there you can fit the steering wheel on and then put the Belleville spring and the receiver cup on. You want that little aluminum contact only making contact with the Belleville spring if you press the horn in. If its constantly making contact, you will need to shorten your spring a little until it doesn't. If it doesn't make contact when you press the horn, you've cut the spring too short. The basic principle is when the Belleville spring makes contact with little aluminum receiver it completes the circuit and powers the horn. Hope this makes sense, happy to help further if needed.
  19. The only time my 72 has ever ran hot was because all the air wasn't burped out of the system. Park it on a incline, take the cap off and let it burp the air out (if any) would be my first step.
  20. The dang MC emblem on mine always turns black after a few years.
  21. Co-sign on Classic Consoles. I love mine, great quality and it stays put very well.
  22. For what its worth, 2 people have left positive reviews with March 2023 dates on Opgi's website so it appears that they are shipping these.
  23. No, but I figured on it being a while before I get it like I do with most things with OPGI. For me, the juice is worth the squeeze on this one. My grille has bothered me for 20 years and the price to rechrome one is ridiculous. Figured that with the money back guarantee, its worth a shot to try this out.
  24. Well, I'll be the guinea pig on this one. Placed an order for one. I'll do a review on it once it comes some year.
