  1. Looking forward to interacting with everyone here. Just purchased my first Monte. It is a true barn find 1971 originally from Arizona. It is pretty basic but rust free and has A/C.

  2. A little cool today but not to bad a day for a car show at Lebanon valley race track. Pretty good turnout they announced 300 cars. Mine was the only first gen but did talk at another member from Connecticut and another guy that has a 70 that I gave a club card.

  3. Only a few pics for now. Will submit more when It is more mobile. Front brakes are seized on but everything else seems to work. It was brought up from Tucson 10 years ago and put in the back corner of a barn until yesterday.

  4. Like Steve mentioned above, I've adjusted minor misalignment's at the corners by pulling on it with the bumper attached. The '72 has a little different corner brace than the one you seem to have, so loosening the corner bolt a bit may help. On mine, I just pulled and it went where I wanted.

  5. You certainly will! We have a friend who just installed a 460- .030 454 built by vortecpro. He installed it into a 72 Monte Carlo with a 3:42 and th400 a few months ago. He loves it! In our opinion, mark builds a nice engine package.

  6. Sendo, The rear bumper on my SS was not bent but the brackets needed realignment with the frame. I removed the bumper (as you also have done) and then removed the brackets so I could clean and re-paint them. I sprayed the back side of the bumper with Bumper Chrome by Plastikote and sprayed the brackets with Rustoleum semi-gloss black. I inspected the brackets for bends but found none. When I remounted the bumper to the frame, I aligned it the way I wanted and it bolted right up. At that time my rear bumper did not have bumper guards (I mounted a pair several years later) so maybe the bumper was pushed out of alignment when someone tried to push the Monte from the rear. I guessing you can remount your bumper in the correct position. You may need to have someone hold it in place while you tighten the bolts. Good luck.

  7. Mine was bent out just a little bit, I was suprised how easy it bent back after I loosened the bracket a little bit. Maybe a pry bar might bring it out what you need.
