  1. Lol ok, get this, when working at a dealer in my younger (18) years we had a police car come in with a rattle/noise when taking off and stopping. After many people looking at it, I found a half filled bottle of pepsi, glass bottle, again showing my age, sealed inside the right rocker, yes inside. Got rid of the bottle and the noise. Lol. Ask about the moldy tuna fish sandwich left inside the rear door in another police car. P U! Lolol
  2. I agree with what Canuck said. I have a factory 71 402 4 speed with bucket seats, bench is even rarer.

    Labor Day

    Everyone enjoy and be safe!!!
  4. Exactly what Rob described.
  5. Hey all, Today , and yesterday my brother and son assisted me on installing a rechromed rear bumper, "in stock" over 20yrs from bumper boys. Finally opened it and was pleasantly surprised at the chroming quality. I guess I purchased it when bumper boys were doing good work and a 6yr old new Goodmark front bumper, also in stock. Before installing the bumpers we installed rechromed front and rear bumper guards. Those have been in stock for only 4 years. Lol We also installed the 3 pieces of lower chrome under the trunk. In stock longer than the rear bumper. At the time we also installed new license plate lamp assy, and both reverse lamp housings and lens', and rear bumper corner rubbers.Only in stock a yr and a half.
  6. Rodney, it goes on the passenger side on both big and small blocks.
  7. You can also replace it with an open spacer or the original type spacer. I used the open spacer on Barn Find. I got mine from Ground Up. They have them for small and big blocks.
  8. Ohhh no, they ARE "in stock" I assure you. Lololol
  9. Looks great! Very jealous! Lolol
  10. Thanks Willie! The wheels on the convertible are the weld wheels that were "in stock" that my son has powder coated, and used the hubcaps adapters with the Pontiac hubcaps that were also "in stock". Lol to give the convertible a "stock" looking wheel. Those are also 15x10 with a 5.5 backspacing.
  11. Thanks Kevin for detailing the rear for "barn find". And yes, sorry for more "in stock" parts acquired. 🤪
  12. Hi everyone. Progress with the wheels and slapper bars for my son's projects. The weld wheels had tires mounted to them and installed on his convertible. The wheels from the convertible are now on the Monte and the slapper bars, we decided to install onto the convertible. The Monte has no traction issues other than it has none. Lol The convertible had mad wheel hop. Not any more lolol Both cars have 15x10 with 5.5 backspacing with 275/60 r15 tires on the back.
  13. Finally got off my butt and took "Big Red" for a front end alignment. So much better. Lolol
  14. Like Mike and Canuck said, it's painted to match the vynal top on the flat part.
  15. The th400 and th350 use different cable brackets on the transmission. Did you use the correct bracket?
  16. Hi everyone! Finally took "Big Red" out of hybernation. Shame on me. Today's endeavor was to remove the 12 bolt rear from "Big Red" to install an identical 12 bolt, the original, numbers matching rear that came with her. Now, the 12 bolt that came out is going to go into "Barn Find". Barn finds original rear was removed a long time ago for unknown reasons. This is where it gets amazing, astounding, get the F-$k outa here. My brother, the numbers guy, checks the numbers and codes on the rear going into barn find..... It's the correct year, and code for the barn find! Checked the build sheet and had the same code! It was assembled April of 70 and barn find was assembled September of 70 for 71. Imagine the luck on that??? We are dumbfounded also. Ya never know.
  17. I agree with what Leghome stated. You can also use a little silicone after you opened it up a little or just try the silicone. Just make sure you clean both areas well.
  18. Welcome Chris! Nice looking 71! Keep the pics coming! Big block or small block?
  19. Wow another one! Nothing is made well anymore. So far I have had luck with Monroe gas shocks.
  20. From working on NYC busses with air suspensions, if the shocks are loosing air and they check out ok, the air is leaking from somewhere obviously. Silly question, Have you checked the entire system?
  21. I'm sure Paul was using the link for a description. You have to look around the website for the correct application.
  22. Opgi like Paul posted, the parts place, inline tube, ground up, ausleys Chevelle, etc. Are a few others.
  23. First pic is of a 72. 2nd is a early 71. 3rd??? Lol
