  3. Guys, Mike is just a few blocks away and our builds are almost identicle except for the ci. He's got a real potent smallblock that dynoed @ 530hp. David, he could have really benefited from your header part #'s but he ordered the 166's months ago and already went through busting his knuckles. His drivers side went right in but had to relocate pipes on the pass side. Hes dealing w/this fuel pump issue and I will be as well when I put my motor in. The Holley 110 fit my old motor but it doesnt doesnt fit mikes shp block. I just came back from my builder and he did some measurements to my shp block and compared it to another factory block....No way is the shp OEM specs, maybe the motor mounts and trans, but not the fuel pump unless your car possibly took a good hit Mike and threw things off a bit??? Hopefully not. I think the shp block is taller too. We both need a better fuel system anyway...Here goes another $1500. Labor of love I tell ya. When I get my motor in i'll see if my 110 fits and if not i'll throw in the small 80 and use that cause we know that it fits untill I have the coin to go all out. Wish us luck guys!
  4. Your only choices for your BOP are Richmond 3:55/3:90/4:11, and I think Motion makes a 3:75 now. The Eaton posi unit is Pricey @ around $550 but its for 3-4 series gears so if you ever wanted to go more radical in the future you could just throw 411's in there. The Ring and pinion is around $250, plus another $100 for the install kit and another $200 for the install. Just a heads up.
  5. Some of the 350/2barrel cars came w/10 bolt BOP(Buick/Olds/Pontiac) rears right from the factory. Make sure you know exacly what you have 1st. I redid my BOP w/ 3:55s. It was a little pricey but I heard that theyre real strong and it helped get my old 355ci into the 12's. Either way a gear change is going to feel like you gained 100HP and put a nice smile on your face....Enjoy!! Al

  10. David gave "Trial and Error" a new meaning guys. Schoenfeld is the only company that makes a 1 3/4-1 7/8 header for us big ci.in. small block guys and there not even advertized for a 1st gen! Some of their headers are advertized for a 72-8x Monte. I dont think that they know (or misprinted) that a 1st gen is 70-72!.. He finally found a set! This is going to help all of us big ci small block guys. David, my hat is off to you bud! Thanks again for the great info and leg work. I'm gonna order mine this week!!

  14. I have the BOP 10 bolt w/ bolt in axles that came in my car from the factory....started out as a 278 now a 355...I hear theyre really strong. What type of 10 bolt is it?

  18. Tim, you could shoot for my old combo...355ci, 200cc dart pro 1's, xe274 230/236 490/490. W/ the 1.6's the lift went to 522. I shifted @ 6500 all day long and went into the 12,s w/355 gears. Save for the heads!!
