  1. looks like a good project....all the hard work is done besides the top
  2. if your gonna get the one piece floor pan..it wont fit into the car with out cutting it in half. Question..do you need a whole floor..where are the holes cuz you can buy sections..and the sections from opgi are pretty darn good size..the go from the door to the trans tunnel so it all depends on where ur rust is..cuz buying 4 sections or the one piece..the shipping is about the same..ijs
  3. are you planning on useing the same tranny wit your new engine? I know that its a 2 man job to do it that way but if your gonna pull the tranny anyway the jus pull em together..its easier that way cuz u dont have to seperate the tranny from engine
  4. yeah the only way to do it is find the spot welds and drill em out. this is the only pic I could find from when I did mine but it kinda shows you where the spot welds are..hope it helps a lil bit
  5. never used it but you can get that clear spray on bra..if ya dont like the way it looks peel it off
  6. i got the plastic ones too....does anyone know the weight difference between the 2???
  7. a supercharger on a motor with that many miles on it...your askin to blow it up. If ya wanna do something to that motor..a cam & intake and exaust system..but i wouldnt do to much to a motor with that many miles on it..thats askin for trouble
  8. check this out.. LINK This is where I got my suspension parts from..havent drove the car yet tho!!!
  9. actually those bolts werent from the core support as i replaced those bushings before I even started takin the body off..the 2 longer bolts i had were actually the 2 in the rear corners under the trunk..western mees..hopefully since all i need now is a windhsield and a brake booster & master cyl and to decide if imma do the ac delete plate or not...decisions decisions!!!
  10. thanks guys..got it takin car of this weekend..got the body back on the frame....
  11. hey guys for those of you that have replaced body bushings on your monte....off all the bolts that came out..i have 2 that are longer than the rest..where do these 2 bolts go..im thinkin they go in the back corners..jus tryin to confirm that before I put the body back on the frame
  12. yeah i thought about flipping the bolts around but then the problem arises as to what about when or if i ever have to remove the lower control arms for any reason..i would then have to drop the exaust just to do that cuz that bolt wont come out that way.... i actually after those pics i went and got some shorter nuts..some locktite and locking washers..i then screwed them down all the way tot he the 90ft/lbs to see how much clearence I would have. that gives me about 1/8 of an inch and I actually have threads left stickin out the end of the nut....that should be fine. The Hellwig stuff sounds great but for some reason I really want my sway bars red...i dunno..i jus like that look of the res sway bars goin across the car..lol..imma most likely jus order the ones from UMI to go with the rest of there stuff on the car..
  13. so now all i need is the front & rear sway bars and im done with the suspension. Got the stainless brake line from the new prop valve to the back and got it all installed and wouldnt cha know it..theres a problem. If you look at the 2nd pic...look at the muffler and the brace..the long bolt that holds the lower control arm and the brace is too long and hits the muffler. this inturn pushed the mufflers down and now they dont line up with the headers any more......and suggestions on that small delima?????
  14. hahah i got some new ones and will soon be putting stuff back together and was wondering the same thing...
  15. looks like a cool set..hummmm might order the hardware from them...maybe?!?!?!?!?!?!?
  16. the one from opg is a good kit..i got poly bushings and luckly enough i can reuse all my old hardware..got all my bolts out except 2 of the front ones gave me trouble....yes if ya gonna do it..replace them all since u cant buy jus one or two.. what i found is that the part of the bushing you cant see is the part that is the worst for wear.... these are jus how some of the bushings looked when i got them out here you can see how they can look good till they are all the way out...change em all
  17. yeah in that pic thats a new braided stainless hose..jus waitin on the rest of the brake lines. i also replaces the rubber pads that go on top of the rear springs..all these darn little parts add up fast..smh!!!
  18. ok so i got the rear refurbished and fought with the bushings till i got em in striaght...now jus waiting on my front & rear sway bars get the sway bars and brake lines and I can put the body back on..
  19. These are out of a 2000 Camaro..gonna get em re covered to match the rear seat..not sure what color yet tho
  20. bigscaht

    Handbrake???

that should be cool..i wanna see pics!!!
  21. hahaha thats how my front wheels look after i rebuilt my front suspension also..havent got to the shop with it yet tho
  22. bushings and mounts are the same thing...each location where a bushing goes..there are actually 2 bushings there..one on top & one on bottom..thats why there look to be so many ..the kit comes with the bushings and the hardware to install..depending on the condition of your hardware should determine if u need new hardware or not..hardware is the bolts and metal washers. good luck!!
  23. Nick in this pic why is there a poly ring around the inside of only one of the bushings on the rear end.. I got these with my bushings but didnt know if I was supposed to use them???
  24. man who you tellin..i woulda had to go to the shop if the body was still in the way...lol
