  1. Danny, Don't worry about what others say about your car. I don't know how anyone could dis your Monte, it is beautiful. I am one of those who prefer a car to be near bone stock but I can see and appreciate the the vision others have for a project and then bring it to reality. You have done an amazing job on your Monte. You saved one that many people would have just sent to the scrap yard. Be proud of what you have there and the amount of work you have put into that Monte. rob
  2. I installed mine the same as the originals were and I think that was on the engine side but my car is not stored here at my house so I can't go look at it to be sure. rob
  3. You should become a dues paying member and bring that unrestored Custom to Carlisle for the Eastern Meet for all to see. You can't beat a survivor Monte. rob
  4. Steve is correct.... No screws in the door moulding, rob

You are right Joe. It does look amazing. It will be a shame to cover up all that awesomeness with a car body. rob
  6. Argent Silver on mine. rob
  7. Keep us updated on your progress. That one would be considered too far gone to most people, it is good to see another Monte being rescued. rob
  8. You need to bring it to the Eastern Meet in Carlisle in June and share your stories in person. The best therapy is Monte Group Therapy. rob
  9. Glad to hear you were able to figure this out. Now, get back into that garage and start wrenching. rob
  10. I think what he is talking about is putting some tape on any painted surfaces or chrome that may get scratched from the shaft of the screwdriver rubbing against any delicate surfaces. rob
  11. Glad to hear it all worked out. Ya gotta love it when a plan comes together. rob

Love the attention to even the little and normally overlooked details. rob
  13. Hi Guy, The easiest fix for this issue is to just remove the light bulb..... of course you know I am just kidding. I think you have hit the nail on the head when you mentioned some kind of grounding issue or wiring issue. You have already hit most of the high points. Somewhere along the line it sounds like a ground is being provided to the circuit causing the light to come on. It will require either tracing the wire all the way from point A to point B. rob
  14. I wondered what that pine smell was every time I approach your car Tony.... I always just assumed it was the pine scent you added to the green paint. rob

I'm Lovin It. I envy the amount of time you have to work on this project. Keep the pictures coming!!!! rob
  16. That looks great. Keep up the good work. rob
  17. I don't like it. For some reason, to me it looks FAT. I think that is just too much yellow. I think it could have been used as a jersey barrier. rob

That's quite an accomplishment. You know, once you are done with this beauty, you are not going to want to take it out on the road and get it dirty. Keep those pictures coming, we love them. rob
  19. I know when you buy the inner fender dust shields at Classic Muscle they include the staples but I don't know if they sell them without buying the shields. I checked Lutty's but couldn't find them. If I remember correctly the staples you can buy are nothing more than formed stainless steel wire. I am trying to remember if I used staples or just bought some heavy guage stainless steel wire, about the same guage as the original staples in mine and then wove it through the holes and it has held up very well after almost 20 years. rob

  21. WOW, that is really SWEET!!!!!!! rob
  22. I did the same thing as Dennis and drilled the holes needed, it was not a big deal. rob
  23. Dan, I purchased mine from Muscle Cars Only (front bumper) but I am not sure who his supplier was. I think Jim may have sold the business to someone else in the last year or two. Back then I don't know if there were more than one supplier of the front bumpers. rob
