  1. I have seen a broken motor mount cause that. By the distributor hitting against the firewall. rob
  2. My 70 also has it. This is not a rare option. rob
  3. I think the term "SWEET" pretty much sums it up. Keep the pictures coming!! rob
  4. You know Cory, when I saw that in his original post thought, boy is that a piece of low hanging fruit but I had chosen to just let it hang and not state the obvious but I also knew someone here would not be able to resist. When you are right, you are right!!! rob
  5. Very, Very Nice. it is great you are able to help out in the prep/paint/finish work. Not everyone is that lucky and it is something you can really take pride and brag about while bench racing at meets and car cruises. rob
  6. The front suspension is not a place you should be looking to take short cuts on. I agree the original springs, at over 40 years old are more than likely. There is no reason to rebuild the arms and not do the springs, it is dangerous enough to mess with spring compression once, no sense in having to redo it. Rebuild or replace all moving parts in that front end, including the stabilizer bar bushings to help tighten things up again. These Monte's steer very easy so don't mistake easy steering with play. Newer cars are much stiffer in the steering than these were. I had forgotten about that when I bought my current Monte and even after I rebuilt the entire front suspension it was still smooth and easy to steer but it did not wander. rob
  7. The first problem is it is a Furd. I was thinking the same thing as Steve and maybe each drum could use some adjusting. rob
  8. My 70 350 2brl has the same setup. The wire going to the one on the passenger side has a clip for the wire on the valve cover. rob
  9. That looks simply amazing Tony!! I bet the smile muscles in your face are getting sore. rob
  10. Freaking Beautiful!!! Looks like Blue-Ice. Like a reflection off a pond. rob
  11. in that shot, on my tablet, it almost looks Gun-metal Blue. I love colors that look so much different in different angles and different lights. rob
  12. Tony, that is really coming out very nice. I couldn't tellmuch from the first picture todea but latter 5 pictures really look nice. Ya gotta love that Blue!!! rob
  13. Tony, that is GREAT news!!!! Everyone should have a friend like that. Hey Tony D, want to be my best friend? All joking aside, you are truly lucky to have a friend like this and I, like others can't wait to see the end results. rob
  14. Looking good, that is a ton of work. Be sure to wear good eye protection. A true labor of love.. rob
  15. We get the picture..... so to speak. Rob
  16. Not a fun job Joe... Do you have it on a rotisserie or are you laying underneath it with a putty knife? Rob
  17. Just a thought.... I like the off-setting colors of the body color and a vinyl roof gives you but hate the possible result of the rust taking hold underneath without the owner knowing. My car is an original two-tone painted car so I get the offsetting color look without the vinyl roof gives you without the hidden rust issues. Many people who stand there looking at my car assume it is a vinyl roof until I mention the two tone paint. Rob
  18. Mike, thanks for the update on Davey!! Dave our thoughts but more importantly our prayers are with you. The news sounds more positive than expected. May God bless and look over you through your fight and recovery? rob
  19. Perfect time of year to start those snowballs rolling rob
  20. Yes, there is an extension from the inner fender to fill that void. Rob
  21. The wheels are a good tip off as to whose it is Rob
  22. Some of you have noticed our friend Dave (AKA: CRAZY DAVEY) hasn't been on the boards much lately. With Dave's permission I am including a portion of an email I recieved yesterday. Please keep Dave in your thoughts and prayers during his fight to beat this. HANG IN THERE DAVE!!!! Rob Below is what Dave has said I can post: "Yep I'm headed into surgery next Thursday and if all goes well should be in the hospital 3 or 4 days. WE well just have to see what the pathology says afterward about my chances. It's a a very high risk cancer so I hope they get it all outta there. It'll be a few weeks before I'm back on my feet, they have to really open me up. Anyway with good friends like you I'm counting on the power of prayer like always so I very much appreciate yours. " Dave
  23. If you use Moth Balls what I would do is either leave them in the box and punch holes in the box or put them into some kind of container so they don't come in direct contact with the interior. I used drier sheets in my Model A (Mohair interior) and still got mice. If you are going to use traps I would make sure you check them regularly.... maybe if you used the tacky strips that you don't have to reset. I store my Monte in an away from home storage garage and did not use anything and had no issues. Rob
