I had a High flow thermostat in my 502 motor and car would never overheat. One day at about 500 miles on motor the thermostat crapped out. I put in a regular Thermostat (same temp) and the car ran 20 degrees hotter and even more on the hiway and going up hills. Bought a new high flow and problem solved. As the name says, it just adds a little more flow.

That sounds like a real good price.

Check and or replace your U joints for sure. A friend of mine had a similar problem (same type of noise)and it was the U joints.

Jack is a great guy. He must change his batteries 30 times during that show. He was everywhere. Great show!

If anyone is looking, Jim (Monzaz) does great work and is reasonably priced. He has done a couple of rear ends for me and I have had zero issues.

Willie, I have done two frame off restoration's of documented Montes and did not find a vin stamped anywhere on the frame. I did find what I thought was a gm part # stamped on the rear side of the frame.

Whew what a trip!!!!!!!!!! First thanks to Aaron for all the hard work that he puts into the Western Meet. Also thanks to Cameron and Kevin for helping out. It sure was great to see some old friends and make some new ones. What a great club! I must be getting old (LOL) as these two day drives to get to the meet, the three full days at the meet and the two day drive home are getting harder each year. Left Boise at 7:00am Monday and got home at 10:00 pm Tues night. Now we did have quite a few more issues than normal, but wouldn’t miss it for the world. Can't wait to see the pictures from Matt and Christine. Thanks to everyone for the laughs, can’t wait to see you all next year. Vaughn

Yes Doug it always is, but we must love it to keep hanging on to the Monte's. Royce, glad that you are going to stop in and say Hello. Are you bringing the Shelby? Pat and Gene are going to drive the 1970 Monte so we are off tomorrow morning at 9:30 MT. A little later than we wanted but at least we are leaving. Going to meet up with Roy/Sue & Pat/Jean and head out like a heard of Turtles. Going to try and meet up with Rodney Thursday morning in South Montana. Drive safe everyone and hope to see you all on Thursday. Vaughn

Just talked with Pat and he has hit a Deer with his truck. So it is out of commission. Instead of trailering the Monte he is going to work on it today and see if he can get it ready to drive it. It's a long drive (I'm guessing a 1000 miles one way for him) Our departure plans will probably now change. I hope he can get "her" ready for the meet.

Sounds good then. Country Cruise for my family. How about my A/C hose just let go in the Monte. Grrrrr and no time to get it fixed. Lots of little things going sideways. Getting me nervous . Triple Black car with a 502 that likes to run hot. This will be fun. I guess I'll have to do what everyone else does. Just roll down the windows and cruise!!
