  1. I've had 2 suburbans and a chevy Z71. That equals 5 rebuilt overdrive transmissions over the last 7 and a half years. Might I point out that I do not drive these vehicles hard and neither does my wife and I do understand transmissions and how they work and these trannies are just plain weak. They have a nice first gear and a nice fourth gear and it all ends there. Everybody save your money and go buy a Gear Vendor. I made this decision after doing MUCH homework. Nygel.
  2. That thing is paper. I don't think it's a thrust washer.
  3. Gear Vendor is a great way to go for what you're running. Easy install and base model is good for 1200 HP. I paid 2300.00 for mine out the door.
  4. That answer makes the most sense to me Steve. Nygel.
  5. Turn the heat up on that welder Tim.
  6. Other stuff I have found IN STOCK at Autozone... wheel cylinders, brake pads, brake hoses, rotors, radiator hoses, shocks, thermostats, fan belts, heater blower motor etc.
  7. I have an '03 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. 78000 miles and running and shifting like a champ. Hope it stays that way. At my work there must be at least 75 dodge pickups and I haven't heard any complaints, but I will start asking.

I can't figure out how to see the pics. Nygel.
  9. That really bites Carl. It seems like everything I touch anymore goes that way. Cheap reproductions or "BOLT ON-NO MODIFICATIONS NECESSARY". Yeah right. My latest endeavor was installing aftermarket a/c in my '55 chevy pickup. Hot Rod Air sells a full "bolt on, no mods necessary" kit with heat/air/defrost that was anything but a bolt on. I had to make my own brackets for the evaporator, condenser and temp. adjust. All they sent me was some generic straps and a roll of plumbers strap. On top of that I had to go to another Vintage Air for different outer vents to complete the install because they don't have ones specific for tri-five chevy pickups. Remember that this is a kit specific for tri-five pickups right out of their catalog. The older I get the more I wish I would have listened to my parents... You get what you pay for! Nygel.
  10. Were those parts on your kitchen counter?
  11. Thanks for the quick response guys. This is gonna' help alot. Nygel.
  12. Can somebody help me out? I will be removing my rear seat to replace the seatbelts and although I could probably figure it out as I go I figured I would ask for advice or tips on this. Are the back and bottom hooked in or are there fasteners somewhere I need to look for? Thanks for any and all help. Nygel.

    inside hood release

    I'd be interested. Nygel.
  14. If it makes Jaylene and Jim feel any better I used sofseal on my doors and trunk and it worked great. Doors took some pushing and pulling and the trunk stuck up a hair but the trunk seal settled and the doors are all good. A little dab of 3M weatherstrip adhesive here and there helps out too. Nygel.
  15. Jim, I hope the Custom AutoSound panels go in easier than mine did. Rob, as soon as my wife gets home with her camera I'll snap some pics and send them to you. Thanks for your offer. Nygel.
  16. I am an idiot on the computer. When I finally learn to post pics, look out!
  17. Well the kick panel speakers showed up today. I thought my wife had cancelled the order as I had asked her to but she didn't. I just installed them and the pioneers they came with sound great. They were however a pain to install. Had to trim about an inch off the bottom piece that goes under the the sill plates. That and ALOT of pushing, pulling and cussing. But it's all good now! Nygel.
  18. Much appreciated Robert. Nygel.
  19. Does anybody know where I can get aftermarket kick panel speakers? I ordered a set through OPG last week but found out Friday they were on back order. Do these guys have ANYTHING in stock? Anyway if anybody knows of another source please let me know. Thanks, Nygel.
  20. Scott, you're right. So far I'm loving it. Bill, so far I've only driven it in auto mode. Tomorrow I'll play with the manual mode and let you know. Loyd, I bought the Gear Vendor directly from the factory for 2300.00 out the door.
