  1. Thanks Bob, I knew I could count on you to help spend money!
  2. Oil change, been dreading it due to the baffles inside my valve cover, basically I have to transfer 5 quarts of oil into a detailers compound bottle (basically a picnic ketchup bottle) and squeeze slowly into the opening, it's a long drawn out process! Looking like I've developed a rear main leak now, guess the 44 year old gasket combined with the lack of daily driving has taken its toll! Maybe I'll just look for a nice crate motor at Carlisle for it?
  3. Sorry your not making it Carl, hope all is well!
  4. Really some very nice engineering and attention to detail there! Nice work!
  5. Looking forward to mine too!
  6. That is really going to look great, and I'll bet it runs like a dream
  7. Way to jump right in Vince! There are so many options nowadays with drive lines, it would definitely be nice to go with an update! I like the route your going Every time I take a drive in my XL Denali I think what a blast it would be to put that setup in the Monte, it has the 400+ HP 6.2 with a 6spd auto. Moves that big beast down the road nicely
  8. Not sure off hand but new bolts are included with the belts
  9. Your car do what you like! I always liked the yenko stripes and the Baldwin Motion ones also!
  10. My kids have a slight issue getting in and out but if you pull one side of the belt forward then slowly pull them both together it isn't an issue I've also saw where people modify the headrests with a hook like newer montes and hang the belts on that The safety far outweighs any inconvenience imo
  11. I love the set in my car, feel much safer and with these I at least wear them!!
  12. Wow, that's good news! Hope they get the low life that stole it!
  13. That's about exactly what my car was doing on the way home from a eastern meet a few years back. Was charging fine then when I turned on lights it went down to about 10 volts. That's a very cheap fix to replace the regulator. I brought the alternator with me to the parts store and they tested it. Came up fine. I believe the regulator was under$20
  14. I took my originals and sprayed them a silver basecoat and cleared them. Looks pretty good, not chrome but looks nice
  15. I would say keep the trans cooler as well!
  16. After 10 years of having the Monte on the road, and about 5 years of having the part I needed in the garage, I finally got the parking brake working! The cable was frozen inside where it goes through the floorpan within the first section. Had to cut it out of the car, and what a fun time it was wrestling the new one into place. Between pushing it up into the floor, and down in the frame rail, twisting and prying and bending, a phone call to Sam, and more cursing and scraped knuckles, pinched fingertips, and may have pinched a nerve in my neck I got it in and functional! My box of parts I've purchased along the way with intentions of installing is getting smaller!
  17. Wow, sorry to see that, from that pic there may be more damage than just body parts. You need to get paid not only for parts, but labor. I'd try and find a local shop that deals with classics so the insurance company doesn't rip you off (they aren't in business to pay!) You could contact Leo Konik also for parts, I'm sure he has lots of available stuff
  18. Yea, and they wanted $15 to register. A bit pricey for a local couple hour show
  19. A friend of mine called me about a show not far from me and I had a few hours to kill before a baseball game. Got there, it was a Buick Olds Pontiac Caddy show, I pulled in out front, read the sign, and got kind of shoo'd away by a person at the gate. How dare I show up in a Chevy??? So, drove the kids to a playground and let them run around. The nerve of some people, trying to upstage all the other GM cars
  20. I've been told I'm hard-headed Rob, doesn't that count?
  21. Cleaned and repainted brake drums, and swapped out the carbon and filter in the vapor canister. I need another box of the carbon though. Guy at the auto zone looked at me like I was nuts! They had the filter though! Even the pet stores don't carry carbon anymore, only pre filled bags. I found I small box at Walmart but wasn't enough. Then I had Anthony retorque the lugs
  22. I think it looks nice Cory, thinking outside the box! By the way, how well does that holder work! Looking for something to hold a bottle of water decently on long rides. Not like I'm going to stick a cup of coffee in it with my color interior!
  23. I expected better out of you perfectionists
