Give it a small vacuum leak,if its a rich fuel mixture that should make it run better.Small leak!!!!! If it leans out and runs better probably a carb problem. Q-Jet is a fine carb.

I have used Hooker (dont know part #) Also Blackjack are some of the best fitting header around.

Our OE style rads cool very well,especially with electric fans.And no hose issues.. -
