    SS original tires

Ron. Mine will be here Tuesday… I probably won't mount them until I make sure my alignment was done properly.. Ed C
  2. Happy Mothers day to all the Moms of the world, Especially my wife "Angel ".. She just celebrated her 60th Mothers Day…. her 40th Mothers day as a Grand mother,,,,and I think 18 years as a great grandmother… She is the absolute Matriarch of our family….I'm a lucky man to have been married to her for 61 years now.. Ed C..
  3. Great subject… I was going to ask members the same thing… Mine is cracked and I've been looking to change it … Ed C

    SS original tires

Ron ,, The 225/75/15 is another option to look at… It's a bit taller and maybe easier to find in a white wall… Here is a comparison.. Ed.

    SS original tires

There isn't much at all… Maybe a half inch… the 215r70 and 225 are both almost identical to the G70… In fact, one article I read said the same thing …. Either one can be considered a replacement for the G70.. It's sort of a split between the two … I realized that and opted to go with the 215 because I have the taller gearing in my car anyway. It actually brought my speedometer back to being dead accurate… With the 225's it was a couple of mile off…. White walls in a quality tire are becoming difficult to find.. I've ran the 235s , 225s and I personally like the 215s better.. I have the 700r4 and at 80 I'm doing about 2400rpm…

    SS original tires

Ron … I just ordered 4 for my Monte… I should have ordered them last night … They just went up $5… My current tires are at the half life point and they are 8 years old.. The right front tire was showing some minor alignment wear…. I took her in today, replaced the tie rod ends, and aligned everything. Can't show up in Ashland driving sideways with worn tires … LOL About 8 months ago I ordered 4 black walls for my wife's Buick Lacross…. Great looking tire and smooth ride.. I think you'll like them Ron… Ed C.
  8. Installed new headlights. They work far better and brighter than the older Sylvania Halogens... I found these to be a great option to the Hella. No adjustment to head lights…Simple install. Ed C

    SS original tires

Ron . . Take a look at the Uniroyal Tiger paws ,,, 215/70/15 .. I think that is the conversion number for your G70 stock tires… I first saw them at Kmart.. I put them on my wife's car and they are truly a great tire. The Tiger Paws were a popular tire back in the day. I was concerned that these were just a cheap imitation,,, but found them to be a great tire. I could tell the difference immediately.. They were smooth and noticeable quieter.. The Uniroyal can be ordered for about a hundred each in the white wall .. I'm currently running the 215/70 Toyo's on my Monte.. Not sure they come in a WW now.. I'll be switching to the Tiger paws in a year or so … Ed C

    SS original tires

These are the tires that came on my original Monte Carlo.. I don't recall a big selection of tires… The SS came with the G70's … My car came with G78's double white lines… Back then tires weren't a big selling feature for the Monte.. I do recall when I switched to radials in the mid to late 70's,,, I held out in making the switch. I didn't like the feel of the ride and road noise… I felt like my Monte was on ATV tires.. The old bias tire I always felt was smoother on the open road to me,, but the life expectancy was 30,000 miles… Ed C
  11. I put them in mine about two years ago .. Don't recall the numbers, but it was easy job and no modifications required.. Broke two or three during installation.. They make a big difference at night. Ed C
  12. I had a similar problem when I changed over to an ignition system which required me to wire to 12 volts. It blew the inline fuse we had put in … Check the fuse panel and see if an inline fuse has been added for the Ignition … Ed C
  13. What type of ignition are you using ? HEI / MSD, etc / Stock ?
  14. The best way to find a problem with your car is go to a car show and let your friends nit pic… LOL It two seconds for this to be noticed … I missed it entirely… Ed C Ed C
  15. Yep…. Just found one of mine with a hole… Went thru a rock storm a couple of weeks ago … Hope these work for you. I may use them if they work well for you… Ed C
  16. Went To a local car show in Grass Valley Calif. I didn't enter the show.. No Monte Carlos.. Hank and I then drove out to the local AF Base… BTW.. This paint job will be 30 years old next month… Ed C
  17. I ordered three decals from OPGI … total was $23…. Shipping was $27… Cancelled the order….
  18. Installed an electrical plug for my new trailer hitch. It's all hidden and tucked away. I used three relays and ran an inline fused power line from the main fuse block… I also put another inline fuse at the junction where the three relays are wire. At first, I was concerned about using the tail light wiring harness to trigger the relays... It all works ,doesn't interfere with my new LED taillights, and is well hidden beneath the center brace that supports the trunk lock … It's a clean install... I also replaced my back up camera while in the trunk .. It was failing and not reliable.. I really enjoy camera and it's great for backing and trailer towing.. Ed C ..
  19. BTW…. Any of you who may have driven on that stretch of I 5 knows how dangerous it is,,,, especially the north bound downhill side into Ashland Oregon. The Donner summit on I 80 in Northern Calif is nothing but a 60 mile down hill joy ride in comparison…
  20. Yesterday I prepped her for a trip to Medford Oregon… Got up this morning and decided to drive the Buick… The Ashland grade isn't dry and remains unpredictable. Hank doesn't care.
  21. Walmart is about $25 per gallon .. I purchased some in the 4 oz bottles so I could refill them at home or on the road.. It's expensive in the small bottles. I carry a couple of small bottles and a quart bottle in each car… Easy to refill when traveling .. I've also heard that seafoam is a good product … Never used it…
  22. I don't drive without it. 2001 Yukon 6.0,,, 175,000 trouble free miles.. My Dodge truck, Cummings engine , 450,000 miles… original injector pump lasted about 375, 000 miles.. I am using it in my Money Carlo as well.
  23. Power Master has never failed me.. After rebuilding and replacing the original engine in my Money Carlo, I took mine in to a local shop to be checked after about 80, 000 miles… It was still in great shape … We replaced the bearings and brushes because we were there…
