Thanks Willie. Nah, just more parts, junk, etc. finds its way onto any flat surface out here.

    New Guy Here

You're just mad because I mistook you for Mark earlier. You always hurt the ones you love, ๐Ÿคฃ It'll never go back in the car in my lifetime. If someone gets it after I croak, it needs a total rebuild.

    New Guy Here

It's been almost 4 years, two frame off restorations, and putting up a new building, but the end table has finally come full circle. My very first post here had the LS6 454 serving as the end table in the shop. Finally spent a couple of days cleaning the original, numbers matched 402 from the Monte to take the LS6's place as the shop table. Need to find a better air cleaner though.
  4. Which explains my lack of an apparent apology earlier, lol
  5. In my defense (as twisted as it may seem), it IS something you would have said ๐Ÿ˜œ
  6. Oops, wrong hole, lol. Corrected, thx! And it was from a guy who owns a Ford, besides. ๐Ÿฅฑ
  7. I'll change it to 'another forum' , just for you Mark........ uhhhh...no. You're welcome Willie!
  8. Or it could backfire & barbeque your hand...
  9. Willie asked me a question yesterday about Rally wheel ID codes. I found this list on the Corvette forum a while back (though the exact list showed up in a few other places too). It also mentioned the 'K' code stamps as being the assembly plant and date, ex. K-1-9(or 8), should be Kelsey Hayes, Plant #1, 1969. The list seems to be pretty comprehensive, and if there is any interest in keeping this permanent I can pin it here, and/or create a separate page for our 'Resources' section. Also modified the list a little to make it a bit easier to read. Let me know if there are any errors & I'll research & correct. 10. Thanks Dennis! Unfortunately, not feeling better at all. Three more CT scans scheduled to see what's going on with this pain in my side that won't go away.
  11. New tires earlier in the week and a front end alignment today at my Chevy dealer.
  12. I used Baer rear disc kit, as well as fronts. Stops good for me. Also used a 1 inch bore master cylinder and Leeds vacuum pump due to engine vacuum being on the low side.
  13. 1st picture is a sensor that I photo'd at the start of my restoration but I have no idea where it is now. The probe has a round end to it and it was on passenger side port on the head. Help with this probe? Temporarily I plugged the port. I am running EFI distributor too. *Temperature sensor as already stated. Looks like a mechanical type (no wire?). If so, it is usually a liquid filled line, don't break or kink it. 4th photo shows the oil temperature sensor (I believe) located on driver side port on the head. *Doubtful it would go to a cylinder head it it's oil related, there's no oil there. Is it a sensor, or a line/tubing? 5th photo is the port on new engine. Old engine had a sensor on both sides of the head. *Passenger side could be for TCS switch (transmission controlled spark), I think. Driver side would be for coolant temperature.
  14. Here's a list I found in a Chevelle Restoration book as well. paint1.pdf
  15. I used a Flowmaster setup for my 72. It was a crossmember back set, without mufflers. They offer the same setup with mufflers, but I didn't want those. Here's what I used, with series 44 mufflers I got separate, plus I used factory type hangers instead: https://www.holley.com/products/exhaust/builder_components/direct_fit_pipe_kits/header-back_pipe/parts/17107 With series 40 mufflers included: https://www.holley.com/products/exhaust/exhaust_systems/flowmaster/american_thunder/parts/17119
  16. Yes, same page as the other member sent me last night. (his picture is a little better ๐Ÿคฃ) In 1972, looks like they used that better starter (1108430) for all the Monte engines, small & big block. I'll check '71 when the new info gets here, curious now. They are different depending if it was auto or manual transmissions though. Below picture is from 1970 Service manual:
  17. Another member just messaged me in the background with the info below. It corresponds with the same info that's in the '72 GM Service Manual, and the same info that 'rotinbob' found. Seems like 1108430 may be the correct starter for the 454 engine. As mentioned above, when I get the 70 service manual, I'll look. Hi Joe, I found the GM Monte Carlo Heritage starter numbers as being 1108338 for 350 with auto trans and 1108430 for 400 & 454 motors. I also found this link online which also helps with date codes; http://chevellestuff.net/qd/starter_numbers.htm I did not want to post this info because I see there are already conflicting numbers, so I will leave it to you for your review.
  18. I spoke with someone at GM this morning. Apparently GM is 'rebranding' their archives she said, unfortunately they took down all the info before doing it correctly. She suggested I email them with a request for the 3 years I want, which I just did. If/when they arrive, I'll post. The parts manuals may just be 'service' replacements, not the actual part number people are sometimes looking for in a restoration.
  19. I ordered the 70, 71, & 72 CD's with the service manual, Fisher body, and Assembly Manuals the other night. As soon as they get here, I'll look in the 1970 Service manual to see what it says. I have all the 72 manuals in paperback, but figured if I have them in digital format, it'll be easier to post pages here when needed. I called GM Archives too, but all I got was voice mail, left a message, and have not received any response yet.
  20. This one comes out a mid-70's Nova. There's a post around here that has the info listed, I'll see if I can find it. EDIT: Look here at this post: of
  21. So, out of curiosity, I seemed to remember the factory service manuals had specs in the back of the book for a lot of stuff. I looked in my '72 manual and found the page below. It lists the starter part number, engines, specs, etc. Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of the 70 manual. If someone here has one, they may be able to give it a quick look and see what it shows. I've been meaning to get a 70 & 71 manual, just hasn't happened yet. The 'new' ones they offer online are crappy reproductions that are barely readable, so that's out. Tried it once, sent it back to Amazon.
  22. I'm going to call there tomorrow, to see what's the deal. I'll try to get packages for the 70-72 Montes from them if possible. After that, I'll put them in a link so we can all have access to the info.
  23. Says the man who is collecting parts, on par with Tom & Kevin ๐Ÿ˜.
