Put a battery tray in it today ( the old one off my 71). This one didn’t seem to hold the battery correctly. Lol. And yes,believe it or not, the bolts came right out. Go figure.

That’s why I put the “lol” in there. Lol I grew up in Minnesota. I know all to much about the late snows. Snow flurries expected here the next couple days. 70- 80 degrees this weekend. Today I mowed with my coveralls, stocking cap and gloves. Go figure. I’ve had enough too.

Thanks all. A lot will depend on when I get it up on stands and check out the underside. Floor boards look pretty good but sitting that long in a field has me concerned about the frame. But I do know where there’s a chevelle sitting with a non original engine in it. A 70 crn engine would look pretty good in it.

lol My 70 restoration project or parts for sale or Dennis your a stupid idiot So here goes. Thursday after work (I got done at 11 am) I drove to Maryland and bought a 70 ss. Number matching engine and transmission ( don’t know about rear yet) Flint built. I have not been to sleep yet so I’m on 35 hours straight. Here are the pictures. Let me know. The guy I bought it from was talking about parting it out even though he really liked the car. Just too much work with his time constraints. It sat in a field for a minimum of 10 to 15 years. Previous owners pulled the black vinyl top off and pulled some parts of the engine. It will be interesting to say the least. But it looks basically unmolested. All ss parts are still on the car. Lots of pictures, it’s like a bad dream.

Just out of curiosity. 23 for a rebuild kit or 40 for a new one. If you don’t care about going for original , then why the hassle? I get the learning experience I’m ok with that. I’ve spent alot more for learning purposes and a lot of times trashed what I was doing. But brakes are kind of important, that’s got to be right. Like I said just curious.
