The way I remember it is the bottom end is the smallest and it tapers up till it’s tight at the flared ring or it flares right below the ring. I have pushed them in and the use a small block of wood for the final tap tap to lock it in place.

From personal experience I can tell you that even though the exterior of the car may not be perfect, your sitting on the inside if it’s not what you want you will never be happy with the car. I do realize that all can be changed (as I am doing) be its very expensive either way. You have to look at the bones of the car and make your best choice. # 2 may be the best option but with high perf engines comes racing, cutting and welding on frames. It’s a hard decision. Keep us informed good luck. Also if you’re paying for an SS make sure your getting an SS look for the hard to find SS parts there is s ton of value in that. If that stuff is still there it’s a good indication that it wasn’t screwed with too awful bad

It’s all posted here. I just went through all this and everybody was great. I just purchased a cluster(sonny) repinned the harness and added the tach wire. Pretty painless for somebody with skills,that just happens to not be me. Electrical is my devil

Some come with some don’t but you can probably unscrew the one off your old water pump. Called hose nipple. Chain stores have them in the Forman help section. I believe 3/4 in hose nipple is what your after

My SS has no decals anywhere on the car except for the radiator cover. No door jamb no trunk. Is this normal?

I agree with the install tool. I’ve pressed them on with a rigged set up but it’s a pain in the ars. If you beat them on with s hammer and block of wood you risk throwing the balancer out of balance by moving the rubber insert. That makes all kinds of funny( not so ) vibrations

You can buy the big set at harbor freight. Keep in mind the quality sucks but it works
