  1. Must be nice to have nuthin’ to do and all day to do it. Slacker.
  2. Glen

    American Graffiti

    Good stuff, Aaron.
  3. One thing is guaranteed with this cast of characters… every day is a laugh. Good times! 🤣😂
  4. I don’t know what’s more awful-fer. That or the power of censorship which seems to have claimed the Joe I barely knew 🥺
  5. Remind me to never rob a bank with you...
  6. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.
  7. Glad you enjoyed them! I was trying to get a picture of a caricature painted on the side of the taco truck but the young lady in white stepped into the frame at the last second, effectively eclipsing the shot. And then I went back later to get the picture and the taco truck was gone!! 🤷🏼‍♂️
  8. Got to stretch the legs on the ‘71 today, attended the second annual (my first) show in a suburb called Joliet 35 miles away. Joliet is home to the infamous Joliet Correctional Center of Blues Brothers fame. You’ll see that Jake and Elwood were in attendance. Easily 300 cars and the rain held off which is always a bonus. I was able to find two other First Gens. The best part? My coat hanger exhaust strap held up while I await the correct replacements to arrive. Pics below..
  9. The very thought of her still gives me nightmares, I didn’t need to be reminded with a pic, Mark. But like they say “what doesn’t kill ya only makes you stronger”.
  10. Thanks Sammy! Yeah, the ‘71 made it to this show a few weeks ago, figured it was the ‘70s turn. Mama was supposed to bring the ‘70 to the show where I inherited the date which Mark was nice enough to remind us all of 🤢🤮. Only she got stuck working late and was not comfortable (nor was I) driving the car to the show by herself without us wolf packing there. I’m heading to a another show in the morning, more pix to come.
  11. Referencing a coat hanger and love affair in the same breath has the potential to make one’s imagination run wild. And I’m to be held harmless and not responsible for aged/dry rotted rubber. And all this time I thought you were better than this, Dennis.
  12. Ha! I was wondering who’d first see/mention that I used “stud”. It’s obvious that Dennis and Joe are slipping. And it’s all good being the solo First Gen. Most people will initiate conversation based on just that… “man, I haven’t seen one of these in a looonnnggg time”. Lotta compliments again and comments and questions on the color. The guy with the Grand National introduced himself to me… Turns out he’s got a Gobi Beige ‘70 that he said he’ll bring next season when it starts up again.
  13. Oops. I didn’t realize that someone else mentioned this car in a thread yesterday.
  14. Went to the final weekly Friday show at the Moose Lodge in a nearby suburb. Perfect weather and a nice assortment of cars. Was at least 7 or 8 first generation Camaros, but yours truly was again the only stud with a First Gen Monte. Here’s some pics for your viewing pleasure…
  15. Not quite sure why this guy insists on re-badging the air cleaner it when it was originally sold/marketed as a 402, but I wonder if it’s authentic. I’m not a First Gen cyclopedia by any means, so maybe I’m missing something? The ad says he has a build sheet, yet I didn’t see that in any of the pictures… Perhaps an email to the seller is in order. And while it’s not too close to me, it’s not terribly far… I’d be happy to take a ride for pictures and numbers verification, etc. if anybody is genuinely interested. And this might be fate or serendipity or whatever… but the sellers name is ALSO Rob(b), Mr. Peters. https://chicago.craigslist.org/nch/ctd/d/kenilworth-1970-chevrolet-monte-carlo/7528116764.html
  16. Welcome, Nick! Love the plate on the pickup. Does it reference it’s stance or is it a nod to a less than flattering nickname? Because if it’s the latter, I’ll be sending Dennis and Joe matching plates for their cars. “BUSTOUT” in their respective states were already claimed.
  17. This little video clip should answer all your jack-related questions:
  18. All ball bustin’ aside, your tenacity is admirable. I seriously wouldn’t have clue the first on how to approach such an endeavor. I’d be researching classic car restoration places and writing checks. That said, I expect to see the “POS ‘70” at Carlisle next year.
  19. But would that small house come with a composite deck? 🤔
  20. Ughhhhh… don’t know how you guys do it. When it’s forever home time for us, it’ll be aluminum spindles and composite railings, posts and decking. I hope maintenance starts and ends at power washing. I got no patience for tedious s$&t like that.
  21. Notice the cannabis leaf 22’s nicely compliment the Jade green interior and vinyl top. I’ll paint the spoiler Lime Green Poly the first day it ain’t too humid.
  22. What’s that you were sayin’ Dennis??…
  23. I consider myself lucky to have been in the right place at the right time. Bob took really great care of this car and my job is to maintain and preserve her. One of the local newspapers there interviewed me and took some photos, let’s see if I make the papers (in a good way 😂) sometime this coming week.
  24. Awesome pix and an even more awesome cause. Well done!
