  1. 4 wheels, a sheet of plywood, and a very steep hill might be more "heart stopping" of a ride.
  2. Na, I'm good......And it's still pronounced "ZED-28"
  3. And the variety of paint colours available these days is a nice thing too.....
  4. Or he had REALLY big rear tires..... ?
  5. I've never seen the upper holes on a bracket like that..... Maybe someone's attempt at an aftermarket suspension upgrade ????
  6. Yeah.... That rubber is past it's prime. What's probably causing your vibration is what my tire guy calls "pixie dust". It's the dried rubber inside the tire that's flaked off and accumulates as the tire rotates. There's no way to get rid of it without taking the tire off the rim. And if you're doing that, you might as well get new rubber. Remember the good old days when a nice set of slicks were lucky to last the summer ??? LOL
  7. There's a '70 that looks a lot like your's for sale in Saskatoon. Just in case you're thinking of starting a collection.
  8. The differential tends to swing forward in the control arms when hanging from the frame..... And if your driveshaft is off, it's even more. If you put a floor jack under the "pumpkin" you can bring it back up to where it sits when on the ground.
  9. Montelishi's like that when she's cold..... But all carbs are like that. I ran an "upsized" steel braided line from the pump to the carb, and after the first run, I can usually start her with just a twist of the key. If I remember right, you've done the filters, tank, lines and pump already, as well as the rebuild.... So that would be my next guess.
  10. Hard cranking or just takes longer to fire ? Could be vapour lock in the fuel line. If the line sits to close to the manifold, the heat boils the fuel and you get air gaps in the flow. Good to see you're still out there.... And a "Merry Christmas" to ya....
  11. Just the "super coil" that mounts on top of the HEI cap..... I think it's part # 14065, or something like that. This is the best pic I have at the moment.
  12. Yes, you can. The other difference in the fittings is the type of seal. I believe Earl's plumbing makes the part you're looking for. I went the simpler route, and used compression coupling to tie the metric hoses to the S.A.E. hoses. Working for a couple years so far.
  13. After checking the Accel/Holley website, I found the part you're inquiring about..... (SN20). but I assume that every manufacturer has a version to fit their components. Much like how gauge manufacturers use there own sender units and none of them are compatible with each other or factory units. The thing looks like a rubber stopper with 3 wires coming out of it..... Going to give it a try and see if it solves my tach issues.
  14. Better watch out, or "American Pickers" will be knocking on your door.
  15. With the new tach, you might not notice issues at first without the regulator. Montelishi arrived with a HEI distributor and Accel coil pack. The first couple years were fine, but this summer I've noticed that the tach spikes on start up, and takes a few minutes of running to settle into the proper readings. Just food for thought....
  16. Still could have been smoother..... Especially if they're going to sacrifice a classic like that.
  17. Nice.... She must have led a sheltered life. If I were to recommend anything at all, I'd stay away from the "Armour All" type products. They're cheaply made, have no lasting effects, and can actually do damage to the new vinyl.
  18. The previous owner of Montelishi put 4.5" speakers in the doors, and with the exception of not wiring them in, they look O.K. Wired them up, and put a flatter cover on them (the covers interfered with the window cranks) and the look and sound is probably more pleasing then the kick panel.
  19. Mine was removed by a previous owner..... How's the rust underneath ?
  20. Never had much luck with DeWalt.... Couldn't get more than 9 months out of their drills. Wound up going with Bosch and still have some that are over 10 years old...... But they've discontinued the batteries, so I have to get them rebuilt at the local Battery World.
  21. Looks staged.... The truck hesitates a couple times before he hits.
  22. Now that would be an interesting hood to open !! Santa's just around the corner....
  23. Put a dish of pellets inside, and my "mechanic" comes by daily.... So that should keep things under control.
  24. Maybe he just wants to take a look at the "mouse" motor ?
